The secure the border-first argument just . . . ugh
These guys have to understand that they are dealing with people who are living in the shadows and are struggling to find ways to nourish themselves and pay for bills. Securing the border first lenghtens that suffering. Legalizing people and securing the border can be done at the same time; legalize people then overwhelm the border with troops/law enforcement officials until the government finishes "securing" it. |
Re: Sean Hannity Flips On Immigration Reform, Now Supports Pathway To Citizenship
Securing the border by itself is never gonna work:
The solution must involve easy path to legalization to those willing to work hard for it. |

I Understand people need to feed their children and need to survive but coming to the u.s.a is never gonna stop the shitty life in our countries. Every immigrants knows why they came here for a better life but what are the people from our countries doing to make it a better place? The u.s.a needs to secure the border not only from immigrants but from narcos. the drug war also needs to be dealt with. if you allow every person to come here if they are willing to work then why not just buy all the countries and make a super u.s.a country? Should the u.s.a only take hard worker and leve the even more poor disabled and uneducated in their poor countries??? Lets be fucking real here!

We need a border secure enough to stop most crossers, but not expensive enough to rival Afghanistan military spending that contributes to the ballooning national debt. Do you think that countries will run out of their hard workers if USA lets them in? Absolutely not. People like to stay together with their family, relatives, and friends who they grew up with and share language & culture with. Most actually have high enough pride of their country to stay against all odds. People emigrate from their countries because they are desperate, have the opportunity, or both. If I weren't desperate, why the hell would I move to a place where the people look very different, speak a language entirely foreign to me, follow different customs, eat different food, and not always treat me as equal? You were raised an American but I was not, so you might not understand fully how difficult it is for an adult foreigner to adjust to life in America. |

Re: Sean Hannity Flips On Immigration Reform, Now Supports Pathway To Citizenship
Sean Hannity doesn't care for immigrants or middle class. He is just saying this because the rest of the GOP crowd are saying it too. He's trying to maintain his credibility. His views will have absolutely zero difference and carry zero if not negative weight on the immigration debate. Its his job to open his big mouth while its the actual GOP Congressmen who have to cut out deals behind closed doors. Don't even get me started on Bill O'Reilly. On election night, he said Romney is losing because there is a changing demographic in America. He said there are a rising number of black and hispanic voters. He went on to say that people simple "want stuff." I can't fathom his audacity during a time when the rest of the GOP strategists were acknowleding that their party has to talk with Latinos. So, the moral is, these journalists and reporters will hold no sway in the debate. It's the congressmen that we need to focus on and frankly we have a nice credible list that have shown signs of compromise in the past. I'm looking at Lindsey Graham, John McCain, John Boehner, Mitch McConnell etc. This is when I will really start missing Senator Jon Kyl but I'm sure Flake will fill his shoes nicely.
