Ill explain how it affects the GOP mentality in congress. You see immigration is a topic Republicans dont want to touch because what they know they have to do(give us relief) goes against their base's ideals(deport all immigrants, and latinos and blacks and jews). So when something blows up in the news that sounds like "immigrants get some sort of relief" they want to run away from the topic as soon as possible and hope they wont have to talk about it for a long while. All of this so they dont anger the 30% of the population that still votes for them(the likes of people who run the alipac website). So you see, once anyone touches immigration, as least as history tells us, they dont go back to the subject for a long time.

Am I saying this is right? No its fucking stupid politics at its worst, but its still true.
