And my point is that then it's just going to drive a wedge between different immigrants. This whole "essential worker" thing is pretty objective to start with. Yeah a surgeon is considered essential by most people and chances are they are already fully legal; but then you have landscapers mowing the lawn who are considered essential too while hair stylists are not considered essential but gun store clerks are considered essential but a personal trainer who helps keep people healthy is not, but the painter who's painting a strip club is...
And by the way, none of it is going to apply to you or me anyway because in their eyes, we're not even non-essential.
