Yeah..it might not pass but we can't just give up even before a bill has been introduced. Sad to see many here are already saying it won't pass without any facts or solid proof. Really takes the life out of many others who are optimistic and have been rallying the members for the bill since it's announcement.

I would say 60 or 61 but not 65.

It will automatically die in the House. We all know that.

So what matters is what happens in the elections. If Democrats take back the House, and hold the Senate, I dare say it would pass if Democrats made some changes to the filibuster.
60 is needed to move on to the debate and then only 50 is needed for passage. We already know that Democrats will take back the House and add seats in the Senate. DA will pass eventually anyway and it will pass with the Durbin's version if it were to be after the elections.

What makes you think this bill will not pass? Gut and Rubio are working on it. Plenty of Democrats like Rubio's proposal. It has other paths to USC just not direct.

As long as you got DA User, there is a chance.

It's not about giving up. Yes, it will pass the Senate if it is brought up for a vote, but it will die in the House. Even if 100% of Democrats in the House support, we won't have enough Republicans to vote for it. Until I see a bill and I hear from the Republican leadership in the House, then for now it will not pass.

Show me the bill and the reactions of the leadership and then I will get hyped up like everyone else seems to be.

Okay, the fact that Democrats will retake the house is 50-50 at this point. It's no sure thing. I am optimistic Democrats retake the house.

Also, DA User, you need to start reading on political news because even though Democrats will hold the Senate, they will most likely lose 2 to 3 seats.
