I had my interview today. I did not use a lawyer. The whole process took approximately 10 months for me. The interview was pretty straight forward. The officer asked general questions about the applications ( name, address, citizenship, work, etc.). He then began what he called " story time" wanting me ( the applicant) to answer all the questions regarding our relationship ( how did you meet, dates, when/where we got married, who attended, etc.). He told us he did not see a reason to not approve us today and to expect to have the green card in 4 weeks. Overall, the interview was easy and only lasted 20 minutes. Do not overthink it and you should be fine. I want to thank everyone on this forum for helping me out with the application process.

Is a case being transferred to the National Benefit Center a good thing?
My husband's case has been transferred there and we have been waiting for a response to our initial request of evidence for about 3 months now.

he thankfully has the EAD card in hand but nothing yet on a GC interview. :'(

also our field office is in our hometown and CA service center, if that makes a difference.

Hello fellow dreamers,

I have been a daily reader of the forum, and I have a question. I was approved for DACA back in 2012 and have renewed ever since, never been denied nor I have any issues with the law. In July of this year I married my now wife, and we had been dating for 6 years (we're high school sweethearts). So now we want to apply for my GC through marriage, she's currently living with me at my mom's house until we have a good down payment for a house and then we will purchase a house, but what we have right now for bona fide proof is a joint bank account, joint personal loan, both share credit cards, Electric bill on both of our names, gas bill on both of our names, phone bill on both of our names. We don't have joint taxes because W-2 forms haven't been released yet, but I assume that by the time we go to the interview that we will have jointly filed our taxes. A ton of pictures and itineraries from vacation trips that we have gone together. We're both beneficiaries on each other's life insurances, and we want to get auto insurance for both of our cars. Both of our DL's have the same address

My question is: We both had already purchased our own cars previous to being married, so we were thinking of applying for a joint car loan, trade in her current car, and get a new car for my wife, as well as purchasing auto insurance. We wanted to use this new auto loan as proof that we actually do have assets.

The question is: do you think that if we don't have any assets together because our marriage is so recent, that we could have issues with USCIS? I just don't want give them a reason to doubt that our marriage is fake, when it is legit.

I would appreciate your advises

Thank you.

Absolutely no. You won't have any issues because of the lack of assets. My wife and I send the app with basically all that you listed above a few months ago. we have been married since may. As long as you marriage is legitimate, you should not have any problems.

guys I got my card!! ITS BEAUTIFUL!! it looks like dollars $$$$
please search for my old handle pakapoa. I have been having a hell of a time trying to log in. admin resetting password it not working so I just created a new account. I might be known for traveling with DACA AP under while under Removal. am very risky!!

my advised and please heed it. RESEARCH and again I say research until you get your answers. study the forms. I started filling out my forms in may 2015 and didn't file till july 2016. and most importantly make sure your partner loves you, very crucial. it's very important to have a partner who know about you and loves you and accepts your status.

check out my whole process on this thread.

I remember you, glad it all worked out. Definitely was a difficult case I can tell you. I wonder if traveling on AP is what allowed you to adjust without too much issue.

Anyway, I assume you mean the new green card designs. Yes, they do seem quite nice!
