But does it just work for IDs or will we get driver's licenses? I'm asking for other people because awhile back someone found out and EAD works in Texas so I'm set

Drivers Licenses and non-driver ID cards always have the same exact document requirements, just the latter doesn't require traffic tests for quite obvious reasons. Both are issued by state DMVs and both serve as de facto national ID.

How does renewing licenses look like in Texas (and other states for that matter)? In NY you just need to send in a form and they don't ever check if you have status ever again.

They recently made it to where your social security attaches to your identity so many of those that had a true driver's license cannot renew now. But I bet it is a one time thing so now that we get one it will be renewable forever by mail even after deferred action runs out (speculation).
