My parents came here when they were 20. May aunts came here when they were 17 & 18 (20+ years ago). I would rather they have green cards than me.

I place them above myself, but I must be realistic.

I want to get this bill passed as soon as possible while we have a chance for some DREAMERs.

I searched the term "age" in the entire bill, and all references were to the age of entry for "18". Hope i did not miss any other language in the bill for age cap. It'd be great if someone else could also look at this bill to confirm no age caps.

It's government for the people by the people.

As Americans, DREAMERs do pass bills.

Take a look at what you're saying

Nancy Pelosi: The cut off age for this DA is anyone who came under 18.
You: what?!? Noooo make it 16 year old !!! God we are trying to pass a bill damn it
Nancy Pelosi: You're trying ...? Last I check you couldn't vote here

so there's no upper age cut-off? So a 17 year old who entered in 1987 (after the Reagan amnesty) and is now 47 would qualify for this?

God Bless Nancy Pelosi!

This is how I see it:

A 17 year old is not less likely to follow his parents if they choose to immigrate to another country, than a 4 year old.

Also, in the US you reach legal age and can vote at 18. That's because you are deemed mature enough to make your own decisions and critically analyze various things. It's when your brain is fully-developed.

How can you expect a 16 or 17 year old to make that decision to not follow his parents?

Especially if there is violence/political instability in your home country?!

Obama chose 16 and not 18. He must have had some reasoning behind his decision.

The cut-off age should be 12 if we have any chance of convincing the mainstream media that we were brought in as "kids". 12 would be much more reasonable to sell than 16/17. Just think about it logically. I'm not saying that we stop fighting but we need to start with a REASONABLE compromise. Once 800K of us are taken care of, then we can tackle the rest.

Probably because most DREAM Act bills (if not all) before this year have had 16 and under for initial entry.
