Reps are getting desperate because they know they will get a taste of their own medicine.

Progressive groups AND the progressive caucus will not support anything short of Dream Act, chip, veterans health, for all childhood arrivals in exchange for the litany of taxpayer waste $ that Republicans are demanding.

I disagree. Dems have been playing soft ball with the GOP. Two CRs and a bi-partisan bill didn't get us anything. It's time to fight and fight hard.

If Dems cave again, GOP will just roll them over again and again knowing they have no spine.

A shutdown has to happen in order for Republicans to come to the table and actually negotiate a deal. They won't do shit otherwise.

I disagree as well, I think a lot of liberals and Democrats are looking at this situation, especially after shithold comment. There’s no way Democrats can get conservatives, but they need to hold down their base. If Democrats shut down the gov, they will win. They will have to negotiate DACA.
