Trump signaled changes to the H1-B visa program in a tweet Friday morning, telling the highly-skilled foreign workers that he will bring "certainty to your stay, including a potential path to citizenship."

Between the lines: H-1B holders are already qualified to apply for green cards. Homeland Security is expected to roll out a series of changes to the H-1B program, including ending work permits for some spouses and giving visa preference to graduate students.

What they're saying:

Trump's full tweet: "H1-B holders in the United States can rest assured that changes are soon coming which will bring both simplicity and certainty to your stay, including a potential path to citizenship. We want to encourage talented and highly skilled people to pursue career options in the U.S."
Leon Fresco, former DOJ immigration attorney: "I've seen this language from DHS officials. It is always bad for people using the program, but hope springs eternal."

Removing the 10 year ban and allowing people who are qualified to adjust their status in the US without fear could clear a lot of backlog of otherwise eligible illegals. Hell, I'll be the first in line.

What the hell is going on. Food isn't being inspected for safety. Air traffic control & TSA aren't being paid. IRS is not operating at normal capacity. Loans aren't being processed. Federal courts are going to run out of money soon.

The country is grinding to a halt. H1-b reform (or maybe not even reform we don't know the details) isn't high on the priority list. Unless someone's been talking about broad immigration reform but knowing the people that have access to Trump, that broad immigration reform is probably the 4 pillars + no birthright citizenship.

The impact of the shutdown is going to get exponentially worse if it isn't fixed today. For God sake make the deal.

My mistake. I couldn't find the source of when Federal courts would run out of funding so I looked it up again and found this. I was referring to immigration courts, not the entire federal court. For a more complete list:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/graph...=.08aa381d6b69

Edit: Found an article that says federal courts run out of funding on Jan. 11 which is today.

Does anyone know what time the supreme court is going to say if they will or not decide about DACA?
It's today right?
