And as far as Mexico goes, I live here so I see the news everyday. Its disappointing to see, but no one really gives a shit about the people that cross in from Guatemala. The women who come in bring condoms because they know they have a 50% chanse of getting raped. If you have a foreign accent and you are on the bus, the Mexican police will pull you off. They determine your immigration status by making you sing the Mexican National Anthem, and if you don't know it, then you disappear. No one goes around filming border vigilantes or police abuse, its basically silenced. So you guys are lucky you at least have people looking out for you.

I think its sad and its an international problem...its like how people beat up on freshman or fraternity pledges. I think people think that if you are the new guy, you gotta go through shit for awhile as a kind of right of passage. And I believe its the same way in Europe. Its a really fucked up human mentality in general.

I for the most part agree with this view.

America (For the most part...) has one of the most lenient illegal immigration stances in the world. Other countries would deport you on site for even being near their citizens. We should for the most part be glad we were raised up here and hope for the best in the future so that the same mistakes like us won't happen again.

Agree but at the same time you can't disagree that we are being continously used both politically and economically. I'm interested in the first one in particular. Some of these politicians like Hatch actually cosponsored the bill and end up voting against it? This is not fair my friend and must be accounted for. I mean I would understand if we're talking about only one individual here. But the list goes on and on. McCain is another prime example of betrayal.

lenient illegal immigration, yet one is allowed to be exploited as well. There is a win and loose situation in every aspect.

Correct. Also how much longer should we endure this??? Over a decade of our lives has gone living in the shadows like this FFS. Even longer for some of our veteran dreamers.

perhaps America has the fear of the country being subdued by immigrants once they acquire some kind of legal status. Hispanics are going to be the majority of the population one day. I don't see any immigrant performing a mediocre job once they attain a status.

It is complicated and frustrating. i have been talking about going back home...but i have an uncle that persuaded me to stay a bit longer. sort of like 15 years of your life wasted whats another year. everyone has hopes. keep on hoping.

I am reading this forum and look at the past forums. Such has we illegal have no rights since we are not legal citizens. Wrong is wrong...whether Guatemalan nationals are raped in Mexico or there is underage prostitution going on in USA involving illegal immigrants. Trust me we have seen nothing of America yet lol...what we praise a lot about it...one forgets to read the fine print. BE HUMAN please.

^Don't allow that to make you think you have no rights, mind you. If we had none, we wouldn't have access to a free, public education or to emergency care or to civil rights. It's not entirely hopeless, thanks to the 14th Amendment.
