It would not be good for America if the entire country was ruled by just a single party.

That would be dictatorship!!

This will certainly happen if the GOP doesn't get its act together and pass a full Comprehensive Immigration Reform with a pathway to citizenship for everybody by this summer.

Dictatorship would be bad for everyone, with each and every person included.

Dictatorship comes in many forms. All these years the GOP dictated the terms when it comes to immigration in the Senate by filibustering each and every legislation brought forward. They had the nerve to filibuster Dream Act in 2010, a bill that would've provided relief to innocent children brought here when they were young. If CIR doesn't pass this time, I sincerely hope there's new waves and waves of immigrants and one day Spanish becomes the main language of this country.

We will feel the pain when there is dictatorship.

The Democratic Party is pretty much a left-wing part, just like the Communist Party in many countries.

That's a big jump and won't happen. Once Texas turns blue in 10 years, and after Republicans see that they are completely irrelevant, they will come more to the center and start appealing to the same immigrants and minorities they were bashing. Perhaps they will find another group to hate - maybe it's based in religion. Maybe, just maybe they will try to get elected on legitimate issues and we can vote based on that and not based on which group wants us to be deported.

Preach.

You dislike respublicans because you feel they've wronged you by not passing the Dream Act. Something that would have directly impacted you. But there is more to politics than immigration and a dictarship is never good in any form. The day your last statement is true, is the day the US would no longer be the country where most people want to immigrate. In other words, USA would become just like your country of birth.

How in the world did you came to that conclusion? The democrats have become so right-of-center in the past decades. The republicans would go the way of the whigs if they keep working on their marginalization strategy instead of hoping to work with one of the fastest growing demographics in America. There are many things keeping America from a dictatorship, but a two-party system is not one of them.
