Does anyone here know.. can someone have an order of removal and not know it?

or, can someone have an order of removal without ever coming in contact with ICE? like an overstay?

just curious. i do agree that if they married after the order of removals were given, then it looks suspicious. but it seems like USCIS doesn't usually call ice until they know if it is fraud or not 'bona-fide'. sounds like staff at some offices are way way more aggressive now under Trump

You'd have to be a bubble boy to be completely oblivious. Ask yourself, are you living in a bubble? Do you find yourself in any sort of resemblance to Adam Sandler (watch his movies perhaps)?? Do you like to stick your head in sand?

So all five had previous order for deportation and they still applied for a green card, and that is why they were detained? Or am I missing something?

How so? All I got from this is that the person had an order of deportation

The terminology is what needs to be understood.

The agency places individuals in proceedings, but judges determine if the individual should be removed or not. However, the proceeding requires a hearing(Usually a master hearing).

Dreamers who have had proceedings may be due to not being told the truth by their parents. The parent sought a benefit which was denied and the dreamer was a derivative applicant as a child. When the enforcement actions of removal proceedings took place on the application it affects all the individuals on the application(including children). In short, that is how most dreamers may have a removal/deportation order now and not know about it.

Again, USCIS creates biometric appointments. In your experience, did you have to fill out paperwork for 40 minutes? Also, how can 5 people show up around the same time for enforcement action without knowing the scheduling....or controlling it?

I was deported with my mom when I was 6 years old and came back when I was 14. I applied for DACA without even knowing that. I was so little I don't remember shit. Thankfully, no agency has that deportation on record and I'm good.

Thats an example on how someone may not know they have a deportation on record.

Well, I am truly fucked then. Quite possibly in 1.5-2.5 years, my F4 petition will become current and I will start the adjustment procedures (supposedly I can show I have 245i) but there is a removal order from 30 years ago there. It's very possible that they come and get me at night, middle of the day, or if I have to show up for biometrics or whatever.

Well, shit.
