Interesting.

I am actually on the optimistic train with the others here. These are all very good signs. Fingers crossed!

Some of you are so negative!!!

They have also been saying, Durbin included. As well as Pelosi and Schumer that they are not going home without a DACA solution!!!

Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders have made promises to not vote for a spending bill without DA. These are the leaders of the Democratic Party speaking! Imagine the outrage that would ensue if they held their word only to have the Dems not follow suit! Primaries!!!!

Not to mention there is CONSIDERABLE support from GOP in getting SOMETHING passed in 2017 as well. The most prominent ones are Grassley and Graham. I really think our biggest obstacle is going to be the House Freedom Caucus and idiot Senators like Tom Cotton.

Another thing that I'm thinking about is Tax Reform. This is one of Trump's BIGGEST items to do currently. Lindsay Graham is among the many GOP congressmen who are in support of passing this this year. In my view this provides us with MASSIVE leverage although it may seem like the two are not connected.

The freedom caucus is irrelevant because they were never going to vote for a spending deal. It’s the reason 90 House members and 16 gop senators didn’t vote for the last one. Ryan knows he needs den votes

BASH: .Will that be a demand? Will you demand that that gets done in order to get your vote on funding the government?

DURBIN: Let me tell you, I’m not prepared to go home for the holidays until we get our work done.

BASH: Is that a yes?

DURBIN: I’ll just leave it at that.

BASH: I just want to make sure our viewers know what we’re talking about. It sounds like you’re willing to risk veterans benefits, pay for workers around the holiday in order to get a DACA fix.

DURBIN: Here’s the read that you should have. We’ve done precious little this year in the United States Senate. You know that, Dana. You follow this day to day. Now we have three or four weeks to get real work done. We believe the DREAM Act. We can put together a bipartisan coalition to pass it and make that part of the end of the year effort.
