and yes you are right, alot of presidents havent carried their speeches like obama, president clinton did not gave this many speeches, but he offered the 245 and extension of 245i. he actually did something, whether it was something small as the 245i, and not a complete CIR, he actually gave some relief.
You know I believe t if nothing happens by his second term Obama will use his executive powers before he leaves office. He has nothing to lose at that point.

Guys, I just want to ask one thing from all of you. Don't start cursing at the President after what he says today. I've done this in the past but have come to realize that you need two wings to fly. Obama can't pass CIR by himself and neither can the Democrats. If DA/CIR is to pass, the following Republicans will ALL have to come on board: McCain, Graham, Kyl, McConnell, Boehner, Lamar Smith.
I know I come across anti-Obama and perhaps an undercover conservative troll, but I am angry at the President because of his inaction in the last two years and the program Secure Communities.

That being said, I know he cannot do CIR by himself; however, all I ask him from is his best effort. I want to see him exert all the political capital he can on this issue. Failure is not the issue; it is the political capital he demonstrates on this issue that influences/shapes my attitude toward him.

Fingers crossed everyone. If keeps the pressure on, I am OPTIMISTIC that something will be done--regardless of what that prick Lamar Smith has to say. Remember, there will always be opposition on this. So, we just need to remind ourselves that we don't need all/complete support from Republicans. We just need support from a SUFFICIENT NUMBER OF REPUBLICANS to get things done. Smith is just trying to intimidate us by trying to speak on behalf of all the members of his party. . . .

i think DA has a better chance getting through than the CIR. Cmon' lets be practical here, the CIR is just too much to swallow. No matter how much we break it down its just too much for the American citizen to support.

Why shoot for 3 points, when you can easily score with a 2 point shot? well maybe not an easy 2 point shot but its reasonable. i mean, it makes sense other than going all out on an issue that will have a 100% guaranteed dissappointing outcome. I know its been long over-due. But we simply cant ask too much, you guys have to remember we are here illegally.. yes we are illegals here.. get off your fantasy world. I dnt care if you were brought here when you were 6 months old, the fact of the matter is, you, along side with your family stayed here without proper documentations and thats ILLEGAL. That counts on all countries not just here. if you disgaree with that statement then go on ahead and blast me with whatever comebacks you got and blabber about how its offensive that we are categorized as ILLEGALS. i dont give a flying fuck if you have a BS degree or a PHD hate on me for all i care.. but that doesnt make me any less of a human being than you are. I dont have papers and so do YOU!

we all have our dreams and goals. We're all tryna make it. so fuck off if you think otherwise.

This Hispanic family is not buying it. As voters in my family say: Call on us when you're ready to sign it (immigration reform).

Now, multiply the sentiment above by at least 30 other families (from church). Lather, rinse, repeat thoughout the country.

The speech seemed very polarizing to me. There was no real invite for negotiations. It seemed extremely political (Democrats are great/ Repubs are evil). No matter how he feels about the republicans they would be needed for any type of solution to the immigration problem.

He should get former president George Bush involved. Bush has nothing to lose and does not have to please the tea partiers and a lot of the repubs in office respect him and could be swayed by him.
