So, they are essentially encouraging anchor babies, which they are historically against? Confusing.

Yeah, let's wait to see the bill's text.

Not clear.

I did come across a summary sheet, and it doesn’t mention such requirement. If not mistaken, it creates a 10 years temporary status option for others that can lead to an optional 5 year path to permanent status.

The Hill has an article now. Not really any additional details, but nowhere does it say must have US born children:

Quote:
The GOP plan involves boosting funding for enhanced border security; protecting undocumented immigrants who came to the country as children, known as DREAMers; providing a 10-year path to a renewable legal status for undocumented immigrants who have not committed any crimes; and expanding visas for agricultural workers.

It would also implement mandatory E-Verify, which companies would use to certify they do not employ undocumented workers, and includes language mandating that lawmakers must “ensure border security is completed before other reforms take place.”

So it's actually a great proposal!

Non DACA immigrants would get renewal work permits then after 10+5 years, would be eligible to apply for citizenship but would go to the back of the line.

The DACA people would have a faster path it seems and eligible for permanent residence earlier.

The border enforcement sounds doable plus mandatory everify, especially if they are gonna give work permits to illegal adult crossers.

This is a great middle ground!

Which means most Democrats won't be interested in.

I hope I'm wrong.

This proposal would pass Congress.

But it's just a summary so the details would have to be worked out.

I hope Lindsey Graham takes this to his fellow GOP peeps and talks it over.

The border crisis is a crisis and border Dem Reps are starting to sound the alarm.

I hope Grandpa Biden listens

Where are you all gonna travel to first once you have your PR/GC?
I wanna go to Australia and my home Country of Mexico.

Also, we still gonna have the DAP party in Vegas?
