^Anyone that doesn't watch a documentary because it's "boring" is probably not one of the people that has deep, insightful thoughts or views. They are usually the ones that will be like "ZOMG! Everyone's watching it so it MUST be true!".

If he would use a strict documentary format, maybe people will take him more seriously. It's not about who watches your film; it's about presenting facts and not being inflammatory about it. True, Pres. Bush does it too and Moore likes to bring it up a lot ["He wants us to be AFRAID" etc. etc.] but when Moore does it in retaliation, it's just childish and pretty funny.

And, if you notice, the reason people can't refute him is because he talks over everyone and uses belittling tactics. He's kind of like Rose O'Donnell except slightly less annoying.

Only slightly.

ETA: I'm not trying to defend Bush or anyone, just to put it out there. I could personally care less about Moore or any of his admirers. It really all comes down to how you see things, i.e. left or right of the political spectrum. Obviously, with my political beliefs, watching Moore kind of makes me puke. I'm trying to refrain from calling him an idiot since I know a lot of people here will like his political views and how he views the global world. That's fine; but we're not always going to agree. Like someone mentioned previously, with Moore doing a documentary about DREAM, there will more than likely be interviews of agricultural workers instead of fully assimilated DREAMers. At the very least, there will be at least one image of some random DREAMer who has a foreign flag in his room, prominently displayed, a la MTV's True Life "I Live On The Border" episode. The fact that he's so polarizing is the main reason I believe it wouldn't be a good idea to have him do a doc on DREAM.

Then again, I'm probably in the minority on this forum.

This whole rant isn't really directed towards you AllIHaveIsDREAM; I'm really just writing out loud since I'm not exactly *celebrating* Christmas this year and I'm feeling kinda lonely XD. lol

I know the thread is titled "Michael Moore", but as I was reading some of the stories last night, when I joinded this group, I thought, would it not be great if we could get other Latinos in the t.v industry to support our cause. I'm thinking Salma, Jimmy Smiths, Edward J. Olmos, John Leguizamo, who knows I'm sure I could go on.
If people dislike Michale Moore, maybe we should email, Amy Goodman, or V-Me t.v. or PBS.
I think whoever created this site has already achieved the first step of the process of creating awareness among us, people who share the same stories. Now it's time to bring it to the public.
A teacher once told me that the best way to create change is to engage a larger audience, one that identifies with our cause. The middle class is the majority in the U.S., to preserve their way of life, they should demand an educate workforce in the future. Let's find out who knows who in the industry and stirr the masses to create waves of change.

Is Salma Latino? I thought she was from Spain. Anyway, someone on a blog posted this, and it appears Michael Moore has already done some stuff on immigration, though not the Dream Act. I'm not sure what movie it was, but it's a few years old because they're talking about INS and not ICE. I'm really not a big fan of Micheal Moore in general, but I d think that if he did a full length film about immigration, it would help our cause. People love his style, and even if it polarizes some people, it will wake up a lot more, like Sicko did.
