If this bill does not pass, they will not be getting any Social Security benefits anyway.

I don't understand what your point is. People who cheat and don't pay taxes are always getting an unfair advantage over people who report their income and pay taxes.

You keep using the word "confiscation." It doesn't make any sense in this context. There is not a one-to-one relationship between the amount of Social Security contributions you make and the amount of benefits you receive. It's not like they're just holding your money and then giving it all back to you when you retire. Lots of people receive less than what they pay in. There is a progressive benefit formula and other adjustments. No one -- documented or undocumented -- has some kind of right to get back every dollar of the payroll taxes they paid. The bottom line is that the government never promised to give you back what you paid in -- especially if you were not eligible for benefits in the first place because you are undocumented.

This whole thing reminds me of immigrants that come to the US legally and do everything the right way complaining about how people that come here illegally are "off the hook" or "treated better."

How would they know if you worked illegally? What I am saying is, if you used an ITN# or a fake SS number isn't that the only way they would know if you worked illegally?

See this is why i argue about those darn amendments..they keep sneaking things in..I'm 30 yrs old and have never worked on the books for this reason..because I knew I could never receive my SS benefits, besides I couldn't find a job with no papers that would hire me anyway.

Of course you don't get every penny you contribute back, that is not the point. It is about giving you credit for your contributions; confiscation is taking something away as a penalty and giving it to the public treasury. They are confiscating my contributions so that they don't have to ask millions of people to pay for *some* of their debts. This only passed because the Dems agreed to it as did the NPIC because this amendment will give them funds for "community assistance".
