It's hard not to think about him. But talking/texting him is not doing you any good, it just incites more pain and thoughts.

Focus on something else, get a new hobby, etc.... But whatever you do, do not do a rebound. Rebounds do not last and it is not fair to the other person, since you are not ready for a new relationship.

Let time heal.
Talking and texting has been a little bit helpful, but I think I've said what I wanted to say.
No, I do not want a rebound, I don't feel ready at all.

Thanks.

This girl likes him, so I'm gonna feel really bad this weekend because he might hang out with her. I don't even want to think about it.

I've thought about a rebound, but I don't really like anybody besides him.
He has met someone apparently in two days after the breakup of a relationship of 4 years, and this doesn't come up as a red flag to you? If he really has moved on this fast, he didn't have that much invested in you. Which is good, you can use this to really move forward.

Well, whatever you do, just be honest about it to him. No lies or games, just put your ego on the side for now. I still don't understand why you guys broke up? 'Fighting too much' is not really grounds to breakup unless each fight isn't constructive and digs a bigger hole. Unless one of you started hating the other, and gave up on the relationship. Can you analyze what made you break up? Do you want to get back with him? Why?

Don't get hung up too much on 'he was my best friend, he was a good guy, I love him'. I understand that. We've all been there. Most of my exes were amazing people and they usually were my best friend, but that didn't mean I have to be with them.

Well, the thing is that we had broken up months ago, but we had gotten back together (I think?) we still ALWAYS acted as a couple. But I can't really say we were still a couple. We talked about looking for new partners, but I never did anything about it. One day he met someone (we had been fighting) and they started talking/texting. When I confronted him about it asking him what he was trying to do, etc, he said that we had broken up and that we were just friends and that he didn't want to lose me but that he was tired of all the fighting (which I understand).

So I think he feels resentment towards me maybe still loves me, but I feel like he's excited about the idea of moving on.

I created this thread after I told him there was no way I could hang out with him knowing he was talking/hanging out with another girl. I told him it wasn't fair for my sanity. And he said, "I will always be here for you" he didn't say he'd stop talking to this girl. The problem is that they have friends in common and also some work related stuff...

Lol, hush, I'm trying to help her.
Thanks, it's nice to vent online. I don't like it when my friends have pity on me and I don't want my mom to worry about me, she has her own problems.

Ok, I've lost my appetite, but at least I'm not crying anymore. Yesterday I wanted to exercise, but how can I do that if I'm barely eating I don't want to faint. So I've started playing my guitar.

I have a test on Monday, and when I read the chapters I don't understand what the words mean. I can't focus.

Overall, I'm happy I don't feel like crap every single minute, just like I thought I would. The first days were the hardest.
