oh I see, that is nice. My company would never do that for me unfortunately My grandfather is seriously ill, he is 72 and has had parkinson's decease for the last 8 years and is on the last stages of this horrible decease . I do hope to see him and will ask for dr letter to apply for advance parole. However, don't think i will be able to work with dates of my consular processing as I am still completing DS-260. Then have to wait for an interview at US consulate in Guatemala, which is closed due to covid and backlogged.

Apply for AP anyway, you are still a few months away from your interview, it should be enough time.

Does anyone here happen to know if an expired DACA impacts an ongoing I-601A application? My I-601A was submitted in December, but likely won't be approved until mid/late 2022. My DACA meanwhile expires this year, and even though I've submitted my renewal form already, I'm not super confident it will get approved on time.

No, it does not affect your I-601A waiver application.

My case closed on NVC today. They have accepted my civil documents and will finally put me in the queue to await an interview in my home country (Guatemala). It is not clear how long this will take due to covid being pretty bad there. It seems for those doing consular processing from us citizen petitions the wait time for an interview is a bit over a year. For employment based petition there is not information anywhere that Im aware of to hint as to how long the wait for the interview might be.

If it’s anything like El Salvador then it shouldn’t be long at all. However, you need to check if you need police certificates before you go for your interview and if you need to schedule your medical exam before your appointment. I know El Salvador changed it during the pandemic to have it done 3 weeks before your interview date, which sucks and one of the reasons why my husband is delaying it.

How long did he have to wait for his interview? I did get the one from the Ministerio Publico that is supposed to be required there. The covid situation is much worse in Guatemala at the moment, in fact I had an uncle and an aunt both died of covid there over the past 3 weeks. They lived in 2 separate estates, but covid is bad all throughout the country it seems. The US embassy there is actually still closed so everything is of course delayed.

He hasn’t gone yet, but it took about a month. The embassy scheduled it during last January for end of February last year..basically when the pandemic started. We’ve been contacting them so that we don’t have to reapply. I’m sorry for your loss and hopefully things get better. We were hoping things would get better by next year. If you end up delaying yours, just make sure you contact them at least once a year.
