We are in the EXACT same situation. I actually also expired 10/26, I just saw my typo in my original post. Card was mailed 1 day later and tracking says my card was delivered today, I'm not home yet so I can't verify. My boss is also extremely pissed off with the government. It's a joke. We have to start the rehire process as well.
At least it's over for 2 years, and it seems like most employers are willing to rehire.
I can't help but kick myself for not sending it a week earlier though...

ELIS says i765 its in process and USCIS case tracker says card in production on 10/10/2016

Glad to see its garnering media attention. Just don't read the comments, lots of uneducated assumptions.

It looks like I will be receiving my EAD in the mail today. Called the post office and they said it was out for delivery, instead of being shipped tomorrow. I see the postmans truck and waiting for him to hit my house, then I'll go to the DMV and renew my license.While I wait, I need to redo an I9 to return back to work. Man what a ride.


Question;

I lost my expired CA drivers license, but still have a valid regular CA ID, is there going to be an issue if I don't have the expired drivers license to renew?

Timeline Update:

Case received May 17
Biometrics done June 12
EAD Expired September 24
DACA Approved October 5
EAD In Production on October 5
EAD In Production Status changed to "Produced your card and mailed to your address" on October 24
EAD Delivered on October 27

So yeah, I just got the mail today (October 28.) and my EAD was in there. I never got the approval notice, not even in the ELIS account. So I just want to thank everyone here for the support and advice.

I am not sure if this information would be helpful but... My brother sent his stuff the same day as me, but the only difference is that his application was sent 5 days after the recommended timeframe of 120 to 150 days before DACA expired making him late. I was still in the recommended timeframe when my application was sent. When his EAD expired, it took almost two months for the whole process of having DACA approved to having his new EAD. For my case, it took about a month from when my DACA & EAD expired to having my stuff approved and receiving my new EAD.

Another update for me today:

Called my Congresswoman's office today. They're supposed to inquire about my application again on Monday.

Called USCIS. Unsuccessfully tried to get a T1 rep to put a SR for my i-765. She said she couldn't until my DACA was approved and the work permit was pending for more than 90 days.... 😒

Talked to T2 reps twice today. The first one was a douche asshole who was just telling me nonsense, was not helpful in the least, and basically pretended that I was cutting off and he couldn't hear me and hung up (I had full signal). Fuck that guy.

Second one was nicer and gave me some hope. He said there was activity on my application on the 26th and that it had been assigned to an officer (when I called last week, it hadn't been assigned yet). He said I should be receiving word in the coming days. I want to believe that's true but I'm taking that info with a giant grain of salt because.....

I'm still waiting to be approved. I've been on unpaid leave starting yesterday...I'm trying to think of it like a vacation. I contacted ILRC today and there is a SR that got submitted for my DACA which got created when I sent an email via ELIS. I hope to hear something soon next week.

It's been a disappointing week for sure. I'm glad to hear that people are receiving their card since there was a delay but it's sort of discouraging to see so many few approvals. Hoping for the best next week...

Wayno15, I am so sorry that your card is still under production... My sister also had similar timeline as yours. Her EAD went into production on 10/10. My EAD was on 10/11. On 10/26, my EAD card was finally produced but not my sister. Her status did not change. We were both heartbroken. Her EAD should have been produced before mine if they went by the date the case was approved. We thought there was another glitch, and her case got skipped or something. We were both crying and didnt know what else to do... but... Yesterday, her case tracker got updated and was showing that her card was produced and her case was closed on ELIS. It seems like there is some kind of delay with update on their website. It might take extra 1-2days for the update to show up on the case tracker for some people including my sister. I would give it another day or so for any update to show, if not call them and see what is going on. I hope everything goes well with you and you get your EAD card soon. We will keep you in our prayers.
