hi guys I'm new to the forum. I have a final deportation order but I qualified under DACA. Because of financial hardships, I haven't renewed my DACA this year, which will expire first week of October for me. Now that I ponied up the money for renewal, I'm a bit afraid because I have a final order and I fear that ICE might target me somehow. What are the chances that ICE will pick me up for an expired EAD ( but in the process of renewal?) any thoughts? thank you in advance.

I have final removal order as well. Thanks God that my DACA renewal just got approved couple days ago. I have no criminal record.

my timeline is:

Current DACA expires : 12/4/17
2nd renewal mailed : 6/29/17
USCIS received : 7/3/17
Biometric done: 7/14/17
Approval : 9/19/2017

You should send it your renewal app asap ! I think you should be fine as long as your renewal app is pending

It's more likely they will get you if you are without DACA. Why would you NOT renew? Especially since there is a very HIGH chance that we will get a legislative bill protecting those under DACA. If you do not renew, you will NOT be eligible for bill. Hurry and renew ASAP. I don't understand people. This is very clear cut. No offense but it would be a very stupid move on your part not to renew.

I was just worried that if I renew, ICE might have a reason to target me when my EAD finally expires, which is very soon. Maybe I'm just a bit paranoid. I don't have a criminal history or anything like that, just a final order. I was wondering if there are cases of DACA recipients getting the boot when their EAD renewal applications were pending.

What triggered the deportation order? Did you get convicted of something?

Ok you're just being paranoid for no reason. Considering the media coverage of DACA, you will not be deported and priority for removal. Plus, you live in California which is an immigrant friendly state. Just file for your renewal asap because if there's legislation for us and you expired because you didn't send in your renewal, you would not be eligible.

Mid July of this yr... so basically it took me little over 2 months from sending the mail to uscis to approve my renewal
