If asked, you do not require sponsorship. That is the H1B visa category, which we are obviously not under.

In my experience (and I'm sure this is the same almost everywhere), they ask you this...

When were you set to expire?

My case was also received 5/3 and I did my bios on 5/16. I am set to expire 9/25 and have not been approved yet.
