I found this, so apparently a non-citizen can work for a federal agency only if there's not a qualified us citizen available.
Non-U.S. Citizens

Federal agencies may only employ United States...

But I mean why can't we work for the federal goverment? I understand why we couldn't work at DHS and such but USPS (not that I want to but still)?

Yeah the reporter didn't do her research, that's what I thought too that she couldn't proof she's been here after her graduation in 2003, at least her sister got approved.

She said she was denied because she couldn't proof she's been working after her graduation in 2003 so I guess she meant she couldn't proof she's been here after her graduation.

A girl in Dalton, GA was denied because she couldn't proof that she's been working after graduating in 2003, I heard it on the local news.

How long is taking now to get your biometrics appointment? My cousin filed 3 weeks ago, got her letters two weeks ago but no biometric appoinment yet.

I got my ssn in the mail today, exactly a week after I applied, and 8 days after receiving my EAD, thank God I didn't have to wait 10 days.

As soon as I get my ss card, I already had a DL before but it expired 5 years ago so I think I'll have to do the whole thing again.

I got my EAD Thursday, applied for a ssn Friday. I called today and the guy said I've been assigned a number. No 10 day waiting period for me, hopefully I'll get my card this week.

I just called the ss office to see if my information has been verified and the guy told me a number has been assigned. I got my card Thursday, applied Friday and already have a number, no 10 day...

I told my lawyer that I didn't want both last names because it just a mess! So I got all my paperwork with just one last name :)

We were lucky enough to have our bio appointments on the same day but he's not approved yet, makes me a little nervous. Good luck to your brother too!
