Assuming e-verify its attached, Democrats will oppose it and will now have an excuse to block it without being labeled as hypocrites. Thence, let's hope for a stand alone bill.

Then they might add a direct path to USC which is what Democrats want.

E-verify would only harm those who work using fake SSNs, if you work off the books you work illegally, so whoever employs you won't give a fuck about EV, if you have a legit SSN (with or without employment authorization) you're fine.

The whole purpose of e-verify is to weed out any individuals working without papers. If it is set up across the nation, every single business, probably with the exception of very small businesses, will have to comply with the rules and check every single employee's work status. Even those guys might be able to get e-verify machines if gov't decides to subsidize the cost of buying them.

The idea that illegals working without papers will not be harmed is a fallacy. Why do you think anti-illegal immigrant groups like Numbers USA, Sessions, and Smith want to have this passed? A bill just to go after people using fake ssn s?

I'm telling you, it will make looking for employment much more difficult, regardless of whether or not you have a ssn, because employers will be more hesitant to hire illegals due to the consequences that they might face if caught (fines, revoked license, etc). Besides, how many of us really have ssn s? A small portion I would think.

E-verify will harm us greatly, you guys. I don't understand why some of you keep voicing for e-verify inclusion into DA?!!

What I have observed from E-verify in my state is that it only really affects new employees. If you have been with a company for a long time, they wont be checking you.. just the newest applicants. So if this E-verify thing is included and passed you better hold on to the job you have now for dear life and hope you dont ever get fired because finding a new job will be difficult.

Who does this NumbersUSA guy think he is? Seriously! Degrading and objectifying people by calling them "illegal aliens," and proposing a ridiculous age limit that shows how uninformed, unintelligent and unqualified he really is to speak on immigration matters.

Newsflash, people under 16 are considered children under immigration law (in cases where their parents are US Citizens, they are considered children until their 21st birthday). Also, under the American law, anyone under the age of 18 is a child, why else do American children under foster care, remain under the state's care/foster system until they turn 18? Technically, the Dream Act should've covered every undocumented person that came here before the age of 18.

I could care less what NumberUSA and such prejudiced groups have to say. If this Dream Act is destined to pass, it'll pass whether they support it or not. Even if it doesn't pass, I know that good things will still happen for us, he's starting to see the tide turning in our favor and all of a sudden this useless NumbersUSA group wants to be associated with our success? No thank you, I do not need their support!
