I hear that the only valid thing they accept is a foreign license, and the international license is only supplamental to it, a translation. However, I've never heard of the visa comment, where you have to present the visa as well. It's is a big risk though. i know of a person whose using a foreign license and is a dreamer. I worry that he'll be asked how he got a foreign license if they find out that he's been in the states for so long. Will getting a foreign license fall under false documentation, and that in turn disqulify him from the dream act? I donno. Would driving without one be better then having one because that takes away the false documentation possibilty? Donno either.

Also i hear, that foriegn passports from mexico is more likely to be questioned then other nationalities. So i think that has to be factored in. As well as the officer that pulls you over.

As dreamers, we're forced to either take risk with possibly huge reprocussions or stand idle. My suggestion is find balance. Because standing idle is prisoner status and too many risk is stupidity. Gotta make a choice and live with it.

If this license is OK to drive, just put this car on someone else's name and if he insures it with his US issued driver's license and register it then you could drive it and then it's like you are driving someone else's car and it's legit as long as your "international license" allows you to drive.

Or just go to another state and get a driver's license there, register your car there and then take your car and drive it in your state.

... that sux, i guess i have to find someone to insure me.
actually its cheaper to rent a car with a IDP, rather than the U.S. Driver's License, I have tried it thru Budget.com there is a section you check off for International Driver, and the price actually came out 25 dollars cheaper...
surprsingly ... i don't know why?

You have to go through your countries, DMV.
For my country charges 30 dollar fee and its valid for a one year.
As long as you have you just have to submit the document and they will issue it

First you need to sell your car to this someone, and then he takes the papers that says that it his car + his US Driver's License and he goes to insure it and then he register it in the DMV.
So you can't drive your own car, that the buttom line, unless you get a US driver's license.
Do you have an ITIN? you could get a Driving Privellege Card easily in Utah and insure and register your car there, all legal and easy.

You know what, give it a shot. I heard now from a guy who registered his car with his foreign driver's license and he also bought insurance and everything, I guess that it depends on the state you live.

That's right, my parents registered and insured our cars with their foreign driver's licenses in NV.

I got a name of an insurance company and as far as I know - they'll insure everyone, also foreign licenses.
PM me for details.
