I was just wondering if anyone had gotten a license from maybe Utah, New Mexico or Maryland more recently? Washington is just too far from me, although I will consider it if it's my only choice.

A friend of mine got from Utah, its very simple but it's a Driving Privellege Card, it allows you only to drive and it's not valid for identification. So you can't get on flights using it.

I know few people that got it from Maryland and its more complicated then in other states.

In New Mexico I didn't hear about anything and in Washington I know that people are doing it from reading here in the forums and some rumors I heared from people.

Remember, if you get a Utah driver's license - register your car there. In some states its possible to register a car with a driver's license from a different state but you can never know. So go and get a Driver's license and then buy a car and register it in that state and then drive to your destination.

Do you know how to drive?

I know how to drive. Never mind I hadn't seen that it was easy to get, but about the Utah Driving Privilege Card, how long is it issued out for?

Thanks in advance!

The Utah Driving Privilege card is issued for 12 months for undocumented people and you need an ITIN. For people that are legal in the US but ineligible for a SSN, it valid for 5 years. So a police officer could see who's illegal and who's not but a police officer is not ICE so there shouldn't be any problems with that.

It's scary to drive without a driver's license and you should get a driver's license before the Real ID Act pass (if it pass).

More information about the Driving Privelege Card you can find here. You will need to prove that you live in Utah, so a bank account there and a lease on your name is good enough for them (even if you rent a motel room for a week and show them the lease its good enough for them as a proof that you are living in Utah).

Has anyone gotten a license in Maryland? It seems to be the closest state, and I'm willing to go really soon. I really need the DL!
