hahaha kinda. but just in the sense that we didn't really have a choice and (most of us) didn't know what we were in for.

but not really at all in the sense of intentions. i mean they brought us here with hopes of giving us a better future and not for forced labor

Yea, I don't see how we could be compared to slaves.. That is just ridiculous.

Slaves were hit and tortured and forced to do hard labor for no pay, were treated like animals, and had no rights as even a human being.

We are here without many rights, but we aren't hit or being forced to do anything, unless your parents make you clean the house.

Plus, we could now choose to leave the country and start over. NOBODY is forcing us to be here under these cirumstances. On the contrary, they want us OUT! NOW!

nope, look up indentured servitude or sharecropping, it's closer, but still miles off

No one keeps us here by force. I wouldn't say we are slaves.

No, no slavery, but there is a percentage of people that get exploited by their own folks. Forcing them to work for cheap wages, and threatening them to deportation if they don't listen or follow instructions.

I'd say we're one step up--that is, if we're illegally working. We're more like prisoners since we have few rights.

Keep your head up. Smile.
