for those that have time to wait, i wish u all good luck and hope DA or CIR passes for all ur sakes!
If I could also add the "token hispanic" Supreme Court Judge hearings to the list for this year.
yeah they keep on dangling that CIR carrot....

I love you all dearly, but for f-ing Christ's sake, some of you need to stop tethering all your hopes and dreams on empty words Obama occassionally throws your way. "I'm for comprehensive...bringing people out of the shadows...beginning discussion." Serious, it's all BS! Have you heard of that old addage "action speaks louder than words"? Healthcare has his a severe road block. Energy has its BIG problem with cap 'n trade. But you desperately sift through carefully-worded, deliberately nonsensical statements from Gibbs--and yes, he's speaks for Obama. He's the f-ing PRESS SECRETARY- the administrations primary blow horn!
The more I read some of these blind optimists, the more I'm reminded of a Simpson's episode where Nelson reminds Marge and his mom that his dad merely went out for cigs and was coming back--even after years of absence. Please don't sit around clinging to empty words and still insist a year or more from now that CIR is coming. Santa doesn't exist; the world isn't flat; and Obama is only flirting with you. It ain't happening this year!

we love you too Mugi, but for some of us; hope is what keeps us going another day... we want hope to die last.

some of us have to think 5 times' b4 deciding to actually leave... for some, we have allot to lose once we go back.

I really do think that we should think of contingency plans. I would like to remain positive, but realistically, if Dream doesn't come up this year, next year is midterms (unlikely it will come up), 2011 will be Obama 2nd term so he'll probably won't roll the dice depending on how his polls are lining up. He might just do it for the Hispanic vote in 2011, but I highly doubt it (I was hoping he wouldn't pick someone hispanic for the Supreme Court because it seems like classic Obama political chess).

Dream can still come up on its own, but the likelihood, I think, is slim w/ out some big education bill that we can anchor ourselves to. It's just that the health care situation may take up more time/political gusto than any of us realize (has anyone read about the Clinton health care reform fiasco? His presidency never lived down that political quagmire).

I just hope that if June 25th comes and passes and nothing happens, we don't get too outrageously depressed or sad. Positive thinking works, but it can also make a dangerous situation if you have your hopes too high. Temper it with reality, figure out what you want for your life in the mean time, and proceed on.

what happens on june 25? you ean next year june 25?

i think i want to live in america as a citizen only because i grew up here. seriously, it would be psychologically traumatic to leave all my friends and family. in terms of living standards, america is probably very similar to the eu, so i'm sure better pay, etc. is not the only reason why illegals want to stay here. gosh, i wish i grew up in italy. they legalize illegals regularly..not that i'd like to live there as an illegal.

I am still optimistic, we have a nation wide coalition, let's think positive. I know it sucks but keep striving for what I think is rightfully ours.

As they say ‘never put all your eggs in one basket’. You always need to do contingency planning. What if things don’t work out the way you planned, what can you fall back on? My middle finger to this whole situation was to educate myself enough and gain enough work experience to have a decent quality of life anywhere that my fate may take me. I will not let myself be a pawn in their political games. I hope the DREAM passes soon but if it doesn’t life goes on and I cannot wait to see what other adventures it has in store for me ….

Its funny how after the election how most people thought that the worst of this immigration debate was over Democratic President, Democratic House and Senate how much better could it have gotten( Passage of DREAM 4 sure in 09). I'm sure that most of us here thought that DREAM would have pass already, but what Obama did last year was sweet talk and charm everyone with his elegant speeches talking mess about immigration reform in the first year getting people all fired up and shit. Thank goodness I didn't built too much faith in his false hope on immigration, cause he has done exactly what I thought he would do on immigration. Mr. Popularity is a SELLOUT if DREAM at the very least does not get pass this year.

But over all he's doing a good job as President...

I kno how you guys feel but i never thought by any chance CIR would be passed this year but i still have hope that the dream act will make it to the floor alone; it has the best chance of being passed this year; God i just wished democrats would grow some balls and take a stance
i would truly hate seeing the dream act attached to the major CIR bill that's not even been drafted yet.
