It was my senior year in high school, and I was sitting at school hanging out with my friends. A lot of my friends were juniors, so they were all saying, "what are we goin to do without you when you graduate?" Then, one of them said, "wait, where are you going after you graduate? You must be going away to college and we won't ever see you anymore."

So everyone turned to look at me. I didn't know what to say.

I quickly came up with the dumb excuse of "taking a year off." I must say that I didn't have the smartest girl friends in high school, but even they thought it was a dumb idea! They began lecturing me on how stupid it was for me to take a year off, and that I was going to forget everything.. blah, blah, blah--all things I knew already. But I had to keep arguing and telling them that it was what I wanted to do.

They kept bugging me after for the rest of the year. But one day, one of my friends was like, "well, she can just travel." Ha, I wish. So it got around and they all thought I was going to travel. Even in my HS graduation, when they announced my name and my plans for the future, they said: "plans to travel." I felt like such a pathetic loser, and I'm sure that's what everyone that was there thought.
I guess that's why I just want to die when I think of my HS graduation and I don't feel like it's one of my proudest moments.

But oh well..I just try to avoid thinking about my senior year altogether, since it was my worst year of HS. Go figure.
nobody cares Beybey.

haha jk. that does suck. luckily for my senior year, i spent it in the library doing hw.....such a loser

Just Too Many, Some Painful And Almost None Funny.
Just After Graduating From High School, I Began College. I Clearly Remember; I Was Very Excited Because I Just Wanted To Get Started. I'm In Line For My First Semester Registration, And I Counted With The College Id; I Thought That Would Be Enough, But It Wasn't. The Staff Member Exclusively In Charge Of Registration Began Asking So Many Questions; I Answer All Of Them. Her Voice Tone Was Loud Enough For Everyone Else To Hear Us. Plus, I Was Holding The Line And There Were Like 15 People Behind Me Waiting. This Incident Hurted Me So Much Because It Made Me Feel I Didn't Not Belong Here. I Even Showed Her My Matricula; It Was Useless For Her.

I'm doing a mural about immigration with a summer program.
its voluntary, which i was glad because that saved me from
having to explain my situation and why i couldn't be paid since
most of their programs pay.
last week they gathered all of us together to give us "good news"
we were gana get paid from now on. though he explained ssn was
required or else you couldn't. (great) he passed a paper around for
all of us who were interested to sign, i know i shouldn't have signed it
but it was easier than passing it on and having to explain to everyone
there why, its just embarrassing even if that is the subject of our mural.
i stayed afterwards until everyone left to tell my instructor i wasnt eligible.
it sucked :/, i wanted to cry on my way home, i jus wanted to be like everyone else.
i know they'll all understand but that doesnt stop it from being embarrasing

I told people in Hight School that I had a mental problem and couldn't drive. Then I came to New York and in the last 12 years no one cared. Until the stupid TSA offecer asked me where my visa was last April. I think the best thing is to tell your closest friends. The support system does help tremendously. When I was graduating from college my adviser wanted me to meet with the Earnst and Young recruiters, I wanted to die that day. My friends that night made sure I was not alone and only left my side when I was myself again.

I went to the international center in my school in order to talk to the director personally and ask about any scholarship she might know of that does not require us citizenship or residenceship or visa in their application process. When I got there I realized that the people working as secretaries were students, worst yet one of them was in my class. I told her who I was there to see and my appointment time then sat down. After a few minutes she came up to me telling me that she could not find my file if she could get my visa number to look for it, I told her I did not have a file and she continued to ask for my visa number to now create a file. After I told her I did not have a visa she then proceded to ask whether I was in the right place, I repeated that I had an appointment with (name of person), she was still confused. I am sure she figured it out when she had some time to think about it.

eventually i managed to talk to the person in the office, only to learn there was nothing she could do for me, and that she did not know about any scholarships that could help me.

so a couple years back it was during spring break and some buddies and I went to a club. Of course, I didnt have an ID so we were figuring out how we were all going to get in. The friends that did have identification went in without a problem and they got their wrist bands. So the plan was that one of my friends was going to distract the bouncer at the exit so that I could go in and that's how I got in. hehe

when I did finally get my ID at the consulate, i would get in at the college bars with no trouble. After my passport expired, there was this particular place that my friends liked to go regularly. So one time after about two months after the passport expired they didnt let me in because it had expired. The other places didnt have trouble letting me in, just that one place. And so everytime that I wanted to go to that place, I would check the bouncer to see if it was the same one that didnt let me in.

During testing for an engineering exam called the FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) they check for your ID's at the entrance to the exam. Even during the exam, you need to leave your ID on the seat next to you or if you go to the restroom, you need to show them your ID before you leave. Well, I was taking the exam and this lady grabs my passport from the seat and takes it to examine it. There was really nothing to worry about because it was a valid ID for the exam but still she made me worry as she flipped through the passport pages.
