Why can't they just 'test' the waters by trying to pass DREAM? If they see it doesn't go as smoothly, do they honestly think it will be the other way around for CIR? I just don't understand, don't they know that they're dealing with people's livelihoods? It's funny how the Democraps try to be on the side of the people, when in fact, most of the time they're giving them the shaft. Uhh, this is so disappointing, but what else can I expect from the polishitians?

Our best chances of having the DA pass is if the health care bill (and energy reform and financial reform bills, Iraq & Afghanistan bills, other bills, etc.) passes and (stressed heavily) if the economy gets better and the unemployment rate (currently at 9.8%) decreases.

But, of course, the Republicans will stall everything for months and months like they're doing with the health care bill yet the Democrats have yet to grow some spines for goodness sake.

Obama better start improving the economy ASAP.

You would think that with as much as you talk about the economy, you would actually know something about it. But alas, that might be too much to expect.

Here's my challenge to you: Your next five posts, don't talk about the economy. NOTHING about the economy. No predictions, no lamentations, no whining.

I couldn't agree with you more. If they cannot bring themselves to vote on a piece of legislation that benefits educated, productive, completely assimilated, in many cases current taxpaying individuals, future taxpayers for decades to come, then someone illuminate me and tell what brilliant porkie they plan to tell the rest of Congress to convince them to pass CIR.

When I saw the title, I was pretty pissed off.

I have been thinking that DA would be separate issue.

But why part of CIR?

We all know that DA alone has more chances to pass than CIR. At least relative to CIR.

Sure if CIR is guaranteed to pass, and many House reps and Senators back them, and many citizens support, this is nothing to worry.

But sadly, reality isn't. Many senators and reps don't guarantee this yet. Expect many flip-flops. Almost all US citizens are against this, labeling us criminals etc.

Oh, well, it all depends on luck I guess.

It has become clear to me that immigration reform will not pass this year, nor will it pass the following year. Many politicians use the immigration key to open their ways into the Latino community for votes. However, we have been made too many promises and no one is coming through on this. Obama especially has been a disappointment because he is putting our community on a back burner. I am very pessimistic that he will be able to pass immigration reform because he is having so much difficulty passing this health care reform bill (one which I do not agree with). Legislation is all about technicality and who is willing to put themselves out there for what they believe. One person said it right, we just have to wait. I wish that it was at least easy to go through the immigration process even if you got married, but that is also difficult.

Those politicians that oppose it are as dumb as they get....they swear, like we're suddenly going to fall under amnesia and we're going to forget the bs that they made us go through, when those of that can, do attain "legal status" through another path.

Oh another note, I do think that DA will pass no matter what. We have 30!!! co-sponsers in the senate!! half the required to override their F*****n fillibusters!!
