Why why is it taking so long for the dream act to pass! You know it sometimes gets to the point where it gets deppressing! Ever since i gratuated high school i lost all my friends mostly because i never get to see them(no car no licence no ID to get into any where no job so no money to hang out) or because of just too much drama. i don't ever go out, just with my boyfriend. Its always me and him me and him ,not that it's bad i love him, but i just miss being with my girl friends. When i see pics of them on the internet my herat drops because i'm not out there having fun the way girls my age should be haveing. There is just so many things that hold me back to do practicly anything. And the worst part (which kills me) is that i'm not going to school at all am i over reactiong or does anybody else feel the way??
Oh mah gah.
You just described my exact same situation, Im also going insane, so i relate with you 110%.
Its always me and my bf as well. on weekends.
I had alot of friends during high school...then i kinda drifted apart after grad because no job, no money, no license, no car, no ID.
But its whatever u know? This cant go on forever! Just appreciate everything u have right now (like your bf and family), feel blessed to have at least them, and be happy no matter what. happiness is a state of mind.

I really believe this can be use as a driving force, a major "challenge" that will benefit us in the end if we strive to really better ourselves. A lot of us are finding ways and solving challenging problems ranging from money to relationships, expanding our range to how far we can take it. And yea, it all gets tiring from time to time, "living a confined life".

There needs to be more open discussion about our problems. It's hard, scary, but keeping it all bottled up have more negative consequences than positive

I think most of us are being crazy. Not being able to drive, let alone work.

Right now I am just finishing educations. But soon I don't know how I am going to transfer to 4 year university with those tuition spikes in california.

I too wanna rant that I want to live independently. But the situation doesn't allow me.

But I decided to look positive sides recently. For example, life undocumented here may be still better than life of undocumented in Europe or Asia or in extreme cases, better than citizens of third world countries.

Also here in california, we don't have to pay for out of state tuition. And I have a family that support me (well, sorta).

So I began to appreciate my life here even though it is not much.

I was going to say something meaningful and thoughtful, regarding this matter, but then Stevionala pulled a ''Kanye'' on me, and told me -- ''Yo, Alpha, Im happy for you, and I'm going to let you finish, something....something in spanish''. He then ended it with '' Manny Pacquiao sucks, you beaner''.
So what is the point? :/

Good luck though.

Hey, I'm really sorry you're going through this. But as you can see, many of us have also experienced or are perhaps currently experiencing the very same emotions you're dealing with right now. You're not alone.
Living here illegally sucks, but the world keeps on moving and you can't let yourself fall behind.

Try, try and try again. Try to find a job. Try to save money. Try to enroll in Community College. Try to make an effort to meet up with friends. Most of all, never give up and try to find solutions to those everyday problems.

My life is also hard, but what keeps me going is the thought of someday coming out of this alive (not even exaggerating about this one), healthy, happy and wise. We are young and there are many, many years left to correct what is going wrong right now. Keep that in mind. Today is not forever.

Exactly my type of advise. Enjoy your life as you only live it once. Don't let your legal status determine your day to day life.
