Yes I have heard. I should've been more precise and states that we may get some bills that would include the: DREAM Act, Ag Jobs, and UAFA. Keep in mind democratic leadership will not likely to vote on any competing bills after mid-term election. After all it is merely a "hope" that a smaller bill such as above will have a chance of passing.

Actually, I believe there is a bigger chance of us getting the DREAM act alone than a CIR bill passing.

Here is what I unfortunately predict: CIR hits the debate floor of the congress, then it is blown out of proportion in the media(fox news/cnn), then it is denied by the senate, then dropped by the government for being too hot of a subject..... then after immigration advocates complain about the events, the DREAM act will be pushed and passed to shut us up and give immigrants something to be happy about.

Of course, the DREAM Act has a greater chance of passing the Congress than a whole comprehensive immigration reform bill. We never know what will happen to it or what the Democratic leadership in the Senate will do if it fails. The DREAM Act might be considered again or might not be considered until the upcoming election is over. But, one thing is clear. The DREAM Act will not appear as a stand-alone until the immigration reform bill fails. Our best hope is seeing the immigration reform bill passing the Congress. If not, our next alternative will be, of course, seeing the DREAM Act being re-introduced.

We will see how the Democratic leadership in the Senate will deal with immigration.
Senator Reid promised Representative Gutierrez that the immigration bill currently drafted by Senators Schumer and Graham would have its own time on the Senate floor. He might put more effort to "collect" votes than he did back in 2007 because he has a greater responsibility as the majority leader with a Democratic president at the White House. He wants to suceed in passing as many items in their agenda as possible. Also, he is in a tough position for a re-election in Nevada where the Latino community makes up about 25% of the whole population.

All right. Let's stop this debate. I don't see any reason why we should argue among ourselves.

First of all, we are relying on these politicians. So they have the power to do whatever they feel like to do ( at the moment, of course)

Secondly, they have other agendas, therefore, they have to speed up with HCR and CIR. They probably wouldn't start it until middle or early March, that we have heard many times from the leaders.

Third, as the House leader said earlier, Senate must act first, otherwise the House will not start CIR. This is a frustration, yet, I believe Schumber is doing a great job at the moment, drafting a Senate verison.

Fourth, arguing does no good and has no effect on CIR whatsoever. We should focus on our works, studies and lives, while visiting this forum and be patient.

Most of us, if not, all of us have been waiting for years. Let's stop this debate. We have something else to focus and move on with.

Last, but not the least, if CIR fails, they will not come back until 2011 or 2012. However, we do have a DREAM ACT standlone bill sitting in the House since March 2009.

I don't see it as an argument, I see it as a discussion, after all that's what forums are for.

I do agree with you however, that we should be more optimistic than pessimistic, because I don't think pessimism has ever helped anything. And it sure as hell ain't gonna help us now.

We all have reasons to doubt the gov. and we all have our predictions. And yea the CIR will probably fail because the conservative media people are dicks. But all we can do is advocate the DREAM act and tell our friends, our families, our friends of friends and their families about it. Because after all that is what we are fighting for, not CIR.

Go to house.gov or senate.gov and find your local representatives information. For example if your from Nevada find the House Reps' or Senators' website and their office information should be posted there. Then just send them an email telling them you support the DREAM act and why you support it. Give em some juicy info or some personal experiences(but I don't recommend giving any personal information such as addresses and etc.) . Or just call in to their office and leave them a message.
