there's a fellow dreamer that was attending MIT. He was graduating soon and was looking to transfer out (something about MIT not paying for grad school stipends). I had a chat w/him here in one of the threads.

WOW! This is an awesome thread! Seriously! It is very beneficial for those students that are barely going to apply this year! I wish you the best of luck with the whole transferring application process!

Well I'm not sure what to tell you about the MIT situation... the website was updated just a couple months ago... Updated on Friday 13 March 2009.

Maybe it just has to do with how much you "beg" (for lack of a better word) them. But, touching up on another note, who here plans to transfer soon? and where?

As of two weeks ago, MIT would not give you admissions unless you have proper documentation or at least have a real path to documentation (ie you're in the process of getting papers.) After all, why would they accept a student that cannot fully partake of all the university's resources? I really, honestly wish I were wrong, and that this wasn't case for MIT.

Are you applying as a Junior?
I'm applying as whatever they take me. Honestly, I don't care about how many credits transfer as long as I get to go there, you know?

Vassar College and Catholic U. of America have posted on their websites that they will consider all applicants regardless of their immigration status.

Wow it seems like you have to get into an ivy in order to study. I have the grades 4.2 GPA and I will be taking the SATs next year along with 4 APs. I hope I can get into one of them.
To the people here like the person above me.. are you guys getting full financial aid from these schools? Is room and board included??

I myself attended Macaulay Honors College (then known as CUNY Honors College). I encourage all dreamies to check it out, full tuition, $7500 academic stipend, boarding if you choose Hunter College (only campus with dorms), and a laptop. Plus perks including free access to many arts & cultural institutions.

And definitely apply to the best schools you want to shoot for, but consider this an option. Excellent professors teach at CUNY because it's in NYC.

They used to post average SAT/GPA on the website, but definitely shoot for 1350+ on the CR/M. I applied in 2002, so check forums and stuff like that.
