What is wrong with you Obama bashers? Damn, he's ONLY the president and not some sort of dictator who can simply wave a wand and say *my words are the law of the nation*. How can you honestly even think that the president has any power other than saying *hey congress, lets start writing laws* and signing bills into laws and ask the gov. to pass CIR wherein you would receive papers...for god's sake, this is basic constitutional law! It's like blaming Obama, Pelosi, and Reid for whatever court ruling Chief Justice Roberts presides over. Because congress can't get their sh*t together its easier for all of you to just point the finger and blame it all on Obama.

We're asking the gov to proceed with CIR before the midterms-I guarantee we'd get zero Republican support and lets face it we need at least one of them to vote-and that's if every Democrat in the senate votes on a party line. If by some chance they do push CIR and a DREAM Act-style provision prior to the midterm election and it completely tanks, what then??? Are you still going to blame Obama? The cynicism you people display is not at all different from those on the far right; tea baggers, Faux News, Limbaugh, Beck...and quite frankly it's stupid and sickening.

Now don't get me wrong, I've been having my chain pulled since middle school when the first version of the DREAM Act was introduced-I understand the desperation and the emotional roller coaster all to well, however there is no excuse for the lack of decorum, not at all.

Again, well said.
I know we all want to get on with our lives but bitterness isn't going to get us anywhere.

We all know that he is not a dictator, but we do want him to be more assertive and to speak with more conviction. If he would just make it clear that he wants something to happen on this issue he would speak with more balls, especially to the members of Congress that belong to his own party. He should take Taylor Mali's advice:

I couldn't have said it better myself.

It's amazing how much slack you give this guy or any of the politicians. Because he is the president, he has the power to shape agenda. Sure, he can't simply sign bills into law, but he certainly has the power to choose which topics to focus on. So, stop giving the guy any chances for promises he keeps breaking. He got the Latino vote because of his rhetoric about immigration. He made promises that he would tackle the issue within the first year of his administration. Has he even approached this topic? All he ever does is wave a carrot in front of people's noses in order to make them think that he's actually doing something about immigration. And this goes for all the politicians. They have meetings and discussions, and etc, etc, etc...without doing anything. Yet, the news reports it like real progress is being made. That's complete B.S. If Obama or any of those a.hole politicians really wanted to get things done, then they would do it and push forward. Excuses, excuses, excuses from a group of people who are looking to save their own political skin. It's so obvious that it's amazing how people don't see this.

My attitude is similar to Banished. Be gracious, be thankful, and be happy for whatever comes. View legalization as a "bonus" and a "privilege" and you will not be disappointed or disillusioned. I have managed to live a happy life here as an undocumented from the UK. Legalization would be a dream come true, but don't pin your hopes all to one star.
