Can that person PLEASE share with me what it takes to be approved for a student loan. Just some background, I only need the funds for my last semester (Fall 2010). It is a private college and I do have an ITIN and US Citizen willing to cosign. Anyone know about Sallie Mae's Smart Option Student Loan?
Hey my man, how willing is that US Citizen that you have? I'm entering my sophomore year and found a loan that may work out, and I think I'll apply for it either before Fall 2010, or I may wait until Fall 2011. The thing is that the loan basically hinges all on the US Citizen, and they'll be sticking their necks out pretty far for you. If you have someone like that then message me and I'll tell you about it. It's through a pretty massive bank, Wells Fargo, so we'll see how it goes.

don't you have to have some kind of legal status to get an alien number?

Hey, I'll just post it and see if it works for any of you. The thing is that you will not be applying yourself, the US citizen will, and they'll be the one's getting the money. Like I said, they'll be sticking their necks out pretty far for you. Their credit is on the line, and if you can't pay then they'll basically have to take up all the costs. They'd apply as a "sponsor" and get the money directly, and then could use it to pay off your tuition and costs. I haven't tried it yet, but it seems sound in theory, we'll see how it goes.

The way my parents and I plan on doing it is to get the loan through an citizen that's family, use , it to pay tuition, then make the payments online from our bank account if possible, and if not then through the citizen. Like I said, all theory for now, haven't tried it. I also realize it may not be helpful for many of you, since you may not have access to a trustworthy citizen, but I hope it helps some of you.

huh this loan might actually work with a credit worthy u.s. citizen......well i can try it sometime around fall 2011 if someone can try it before then that be great to know the outcome...if someone does try it call and ask how much does the co-signer need to make and does she/he need to own a home???.......that be great....thanks....and u too for looking up this loan this loan might work for every dreamer who has a credit worthy co-signer.......best of luck.......

Alright guys, update, I applied and got approved . I'm sorry, I forgot to ask about the income and home part. The person I used doesn't really make that much, but we still got approved, and he does own a home. Good luck to all of you, I hope it works out for you too!
