You know what my opinion right now. I don't think Dream Act will emerge tomorrow.

Since the House has picked a legislative vehicle for Dream Act, the Senate must use the same legislative vehicle to pass Dream Act.

Specifically, in the house, Dream Act is now an amendment to the bill HR 5281. For Senate to pass Dream Act, Senate must pass the same bill HR 5281 instead of passing S 3992.

However, Reid hasn't filed for cloture for the bill HR 5281. After Reid files for cloture, it takes 2 days for cloture to ripen before the senator could vote on it.

In short, Dream Act vote will not occur in Senate on Thursday 12/9.

thanks for the negativity, but if you actually did some research you can see on the senate website it is scheduled on the senate floor.

Floor Schedule

Thursday, Dec 09, 2010

9:30 a.m.: Convene and resume consideration of the motion to proceed to S.3992, the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act of 2010.

well, I hope that you actually watch the development in Senate today

Right now, the Senate is voting to postpone Dream's consideration until next week. So, there's not gonna be any consideration of DREAM for this week.

Don't listen to him, Victor. It's obvious he has no idea what's going on.

I will concede, I have very little knowledge of what just happened and I was watching it live.

First, Reid tries to end the debate on S. 3992 in order to bring the house resolution up to vote, there was an objection heard from the republican party, so basically they spent an hour and a vote on a DREAM Act that even if it passed, would only guarantee to go into the bill, and if it passed then it would go to the house because it is not the bill the house passed.

The vote took place on defeating the senate version of the dream act.... i think,

the final reported vote was 59-40 (for some reason I counted 41 nays, I was originally intending to count the yay's but technical difficulties left me with only counting the nays as they occurred).

Here is a response by a fellow dreamer as to what just happened and how this might actually be a good thing (which has also been reported in some sources as being a good thing)

I wasn't saying that you didn't know what was going on .

The vote that took place was actually to stop the Senate version from coming up for a cloture vote, now Reid plans to introduce the House version, possibly next week after the tax bill is voted on, which gives us more time to organize and gives him more time to talk to on the fence senators.
