I believe people who are here illegally should leave the country until they are able to come here legally (which I know is easier said than done). That is why I support immigration reform. I am pro legal immigration.

Your lack of understanding how the world works and how immigration works is astonishing. You are also missing the point, this is the only law that will hold the minor accountable for the actions of the parents, nothing anywhere else will do the same thing.

Using your example, its like the father stealing the million dollars and because they cannot find him or charge him they decide to charge his 7 year old child with the crime instead.

No he isn't.

He is choosing to ignore it. Totally different thing.

You cannot even begin to imagine how much easier it is said then done. Going back home for some of us is not a real feasible option, that is not our country, we don't all speak the language or write the language of our home countries, and for some of us going back might be the equivalent of signing a death sentence.

My spanish sounds a bit americanized, I don't look forward to be separated from my family because they have legal status and go to a country where there is an active terrorist organization and various gangs whose major method of funding themselves is through kidnappings and were everyone thinks that americans are filthy rich. Probably because the average wage in this country is about 15-20 times the average yearly wage in my country of birth.

people tend to make in a month what the average person makes in my country in a year. And things are not cheaper, due to the lack of free trade, things have a tendency of costing more, just that labor is far cheaper, that is it.

First, I want to thank you for trying to provide me with some insight about your situation as opposed to just calling me a name. In order to get immigration reform to pass you will have to change the opinions of many people. Your points are well taken. The question ultimately that will have to be answered is how can children who were brought here illegally not be penalized for the actions of their parents without creating an opportunity for people to exploit. I don't have an answer.

Lyric, thank you for getting your point across in a decent manner without calling us names. I apologize for the younger crowd jumping at your throat. You see, this is a very delicate issue for most of us. Today, many hearts were broken and some of us are now having to make a life changing decision.

I agree with you in that illegal immigration needs to stop. I wish I wasn't in this situation but I am. I was brought here when I was 8 years old. Today I am 29. Do you seriously think I haven't thought about leaving? Every single day. And every day I say to myself but where? I have no one there, where would I stay?

People like me are willing to put ourselves through all the rules deemed necessary in order to gain residency, but at this point nothing is being done. Republicans deny all types of reform from passing, but they themselves are not offering a solution either.

What should us, who came here as kids do? What would you do if you were me?

I wouldn't go to a place I hadn't been for 20 years. I concede that doesn't make sense.

Rational? Was the way he answered that question rationable?

I don't think so.
