How can he get sponsored? If overstayers could adjust their status through employment , lot of people would've done it already. Only way you can adjust your status is through marriage to an USC or if you were sponsored under 245i before April 2001; unless I'm missing something. For EWI, it's nearly impossible to my knowledge.

If you tell your boss the truth, the best case scenario is that he will ignore the facts and continue to employ you; perhaps he will look into legal avenues to sponsor you.

What's MORE LIKELY to happen is that he will simply fire you.

The worst case scenario, although unlikely, is he will call ICE.

Look in to obtaining an ITIN. If you can do that, tell your boss about your status and let him know that he has the option to hire you as an independent contractor and everything will be legal. You can set up a sole proprietorship with just an ITIN.

Good luck!

I have a idea. I think you should test your boss's reaction toward dreamers. You can have a conversation with him and lead the topic to immigration and see what he say and think about us, then you can make your decision.

Another example, Dream act right here end last year. Republicans lied about voting for it and got what they wanted. Now the liars have everything, the honest people with integrity got nothing.

I'm not saying to stab people in the back left and right every chance you get but in this case. I'd say yes come up with a couple white lies to play it smart and hold on to what you have. Voluntarily giving up this good thing you might have is just stupid.
"Better to ask for forgiveness then to ask for permission!!!"
You are getting lied to also.

About the passionate thing. His boss might be the most passionate person in this world but his hands will be tied!!!! It is not him, it is the laws in place at this time. Unfortunately you have to learn to stop looking at many things in this personal way. People are people, good, bad.. doesn't matter. You have to think about yourself first and if the relationship between him and his boss is really as sincere as he writes, his boss will still be understanding and no harm is done. A simple parting of ways until everything is taken care of but why do it now while him AND his boss are both still benefiting from it all how it currently is...??
The me first crowd and the what you call little white lies go know where in this country or any other you find ways to do the right things and it will pay off in the end regardless. These little white lies you are talking about are big lies to a corporation when they are getting investigated by ICE and finding out your status and costing them a fine and getting yourself arrested and deported. Again if you have worked hard and been a great employee the company will help you , the HR department can help you. You lie and put all those people in jeopardy your done.

Hmm.. Sorry to hear this.

Just because he's conservative doesn't mean he may not be understanding. If you wanna tell him its your call. Do you trust him enough? Also, if you're willing to tell him, just make sure you're keeping in mind he may not let you work there.

If you're gonna quit anyway, I would take the chance to see what he says. "/
