Has anybody been able to rent a house or apartment in San Antonio? I am going to school here and need advice on how I should approach this.

I've never rented an apartment in San Antonio, but my experience has been that big apartment complexes have strict guidelines that they have to follow in order to rent to people. Many require credit and background checks, meaning that they will ask for a SSN and a state ID. I would say to try and rent at small complexes where they have less than 10-12 units, those are the safest because most of the time they are independently owned and sometimes overlook the fact that you don't have a state ID or SSN. Duplexes are good to look in to as well.
