I am pretty sure there would be no Dreamers left in the US if every Dreamer was in your shoes, that is to go back to a first-world country.

Anyhow, you may be screwed since you don't have a BS/BA, because they don't take the US AS/AA as a valid form of college education, and you may have to start over by getting a GED first to apply for college there. A bonus is that you may not be conscripted since they only conscript people with a high school diploma or better and your US high school diploma once again is considered not to be a valid form of high school education there.

If you had a US BS/BA(Which is accepted as being equivalent to local BS/BA as long as it is regionally accredited), then things would have been much different(like going straight to the graduate school), but not without it. I would strongly recommend that you at least try to finish a BA/BS here.

What did you study? and when did you come to the us?
I did consider going back to S. Korea after graduating from college and feeling tired of feeling like I was sufficating all the time. I was planning on just teaching english professionally if I did that. You can get paid 40-50 an hour private tutoring if you have really good scores. Since it's too difficult for you to get a degree due to finances, if your confident in your english, I'd try taking the Toefle or soemthing to validate myself before I made any moves.

So, when you return, do you have to serve the military right away? or

can you delay it for a while?

I think you can delay it before you turn 32 or 35 in Korean age. Until 24 in Korean age, you don't have to report the "military department" (or whatever it's called..) that you want to delay your service because you're assumed a student. But after that age, you must report them and give them valid reason for your delaying it. Good luck!!

I'm thinking about going back also.
Let me know how the universities in Korea treat you.

I tried to contact them before, but they kept transferring my call, and I had a hard time understanding (I speak fluent Korean, but I dont know any technical terms).

You can delay military at age 24, but not if you don't get accepted to a university in Korea.

Chances of getting into a "good" university in Korea are slim to none bc as you know, korean ppl go head over heels about getting into best universities. Competition is fierce.
