Really! Being an atheist does not mean its a religion with commandments on how to be one. An atheist is simply having a lack in belief in god or gods. Some atheist have strong opinions on religion just like some people have strong opinions on Obama.

Buddhism is really no different then any other religion. Have you read about what they have done to others in Sri Lanka.

People can be smug about a piece of shit on a stick. Just look at the Apple fanboys...
Perhaps you're not comfortable being an atheist. For all i see it, people will be smug about anything so...

People who wrote the Bible didn't know about airplanes, or about buildings, and the Bible talks about that when they had no idea two thousand years later they were going to excist. If you have faith you will see miracles happen infront of you, I'm telling you this because it happen to me. God is real and he send his one and only son to die for you, (for your sins) so you dont have to suffer no more, but you suffer sometimes because you want to. You should try him

the bible IS just a book...that men wrote...to me the bible is the most popular fairy tale of all time.

i was religious at some point...i wanted to be a priest when i was in third grade...lol...but now i just can't believe in something taht i dont see, hear, or feel.....i mean....it's just like believing in santa claus or the easter bunny.

I read a post that God is actually an alien from another galaxy and that heaven is another planet. When they visited earth thousands of years ago, the technology amazed the pitiful superstitious peasants and that is how Le Bible came about.

"And the king said unto her, What aileth thee? And she answered, This woman said unto me, Give thy son, that we may eat him to day, and we will eat my son to morrow. So we boiled my son, and did eat him: and I said unto her on the next day, Give thy son, that we may eat him: and she hath hid her son...." II Kings 6:28-29

Even Mother Teresa lost her faith at some point. I believe , near the end of her life she wondered just what her faith had accomplished, not that she had lost it all, but I think she wondered what good it did. She had problems seeing what the Lord had done through her efforts, devotion, etc. She saw so much destruction I think she forgot , after a while, to focus on what HAD been changed or done. Mother Teresa felt beaten down and discouraged. The more she did, the less it seemed that changed or got better.

But she was a massive celebrity trapped by her fame. Kind of like Michael Jackson. When you're at that level, you cannot suddenly give it all up. You have to play the game even if your heart is not in it.

"Where is my faith?" she wrote. "Even deep down… there is nothing but emptiness and darkness... If there be God — please forgive me."

P.S: You should start your own religion.:P

I don't like to debate because both sides are equally arrogant, but thinking outside of the box might enlighten some into seeking more rational ways of seeing the world. Apatheism FTW.
