For the past two months I been reading a lot of the post in this forum and it's depressing to see what's happening. So many immigrants are so ready to drop other immigrants on the fire for a green card. It's even worst amongst the most educated immigrants or the ones that have an opportunity to help. Are we willing to shoot our parents like pigs from a helicopter in exchange of a dream act?

Political scapegoating is base on hate and dehumanization. That's how with no sense of irony the US government can call for the liberation of Libya while having a slave class bigger that the population of that country. This I understand from the country. After all a nation only seeks the survival of it's institutions; in the end a nation-state is a swarm of institutions helping and competing with each other for their survival. What is not acceptable is that the people accept this policies in order to deal with their insecurities. But the really amazing thing is how some members of the slave class not only obey the master but have created their own class system to deal with their own insecurities. Think about this do you really think you are better that a immigrant standing in front of Home Depot. If you do why?

I know I used to think I was better that them, I cursed them for giving me a bad image. Now I understand that they represent everything that is right with being a man in our society. They stand asking not for money but for work. Because they know a person is only worth their effort to provide on their own way to society. They stand in front of Home Depot because they are intelligent marketers. Since they don't have resources to have clients come to them, they go to the clients. They keep a positive attitude even in some of the worst conditions for work because they know that good things are bound to happen if you wait long enough.

The reality is that many of us want to be part of this society so bad that we forget how this society works. On many post I seen people writing about how if they had a University degree everything would be different and how richness and fame eludes them because of their situation. A college degree is not enough, economical mobility in this country can only be reach with a great talent or a great crime. Most of the time you need a little of both in order to reach that mobility. If your parents make less than 50 000 a year it will be hard for you to get to earn more than 100 000 anytime in your lifetime. A college degree does not even ensure a mid level job with benefits anymore. Even if you get out of college and get a job paying 70 000 a year it will be almost impossible for you to have the discipline to build wealth since you don't have a network that can teach you.

Not all is bleak I see a lot of courage and talent in a lot of people. Yesterday I attended a workshop for Spanish speaking business owners. I found so much hope and courage in so many people legal and otherwise who are earning their living everyday. It’s amazing how in that room we all forgot what region of Latin America we where from, or how much education we had, we only saw the talent of people. We found people helping us and we help people that’s what this forum should be about.
We in this forum have a responsibility to be a light in the darkness for all immigrants to this country. If you think about it we are the luckiest of all immigrants. We assimilated the culture young, we had to work the less and we got the most education. From a world prospective we have high living standard. Since we have been given so much by our parents and immigrants before us let’s repay by begin true leaders in our communities. We can create a truly acceptable society in America not just by passing the dream act but by creating a more accepting society with our Hispanic and Asian American cousins.

With this post I wish to reach some of you who truly don’t know that we can have good lives even in our situation. We can provide for our families, we can be successful in our communities, we can have find ways to reach our dreams. Because it does not matter if they take our university degrees we still keep the knowledge, it does not matter if they take our status we still keep our humanity. So get out of that pool of self-pity go to the people that carry this burden with you and tell them thank you, now we move forward.

That was a good rant.. You are a wise person..

I do agree with a lot of the things you said..

It's true a college degree won't get you anywhere other then a chance to get in the door that's it...

You're question about the home Depo migrants sparks a controversy among my self, because I do believe in the common sense that some people are better the others and that is just the harsh truth...

I hope all dreamers know that you don't kneed status or a degree to obtain riches.. You need to take charge do the impossible and not depend on anybody for a job..

I wish all Dreamers started business...

Hell. I'll gladly throw 5-10 dreamers under the bus to get the GC. I will not think for a sec. I wish there was an option in DREAM act for that.

I just wish there was an option in dream act - pay some bounty hunter to throw 10 illegals out of the country and get a green card! I'd do that in a second.

Oh my God, you aren't being sarcastic. Where do you live? Because in Seattle I hear 'regular' Americans complain about the Asian invasion all the time.
