But you don't have to pay for healthcare and education is cheaper. It's not like the tax money vanishes into thin air...

They don't spend the majority of their money on their military like an insecure nation would.

Exactly

Why does anyone even want to stay in this country anymore?

Income taxes in America hover around 25%-35% and a lot of that can be deducted. I would rather have an American citizenship over a Canadian one any day...

I don't see why there's so much hate for America in this forum when most of you guys are pursuing an American citizenship or once was. True, we don't have as many opportunities as citizens even though we grew up here, but life isn't always fair.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not criticizing anyone's choices of going back to their own country/ go to a new one because if that's what they want, that's cool with me. But I just think it's a step backwards to be complaining about how much America is terrible and all, even though most of us still live here and will for a while.

The immigration system here is broken but they have to address it eventually.

The immigration system is not the only thing that's broken in this country.

That is true but there isn't a country in the world where everything is perfect.

That doesn't mean some aren't better than others.

Canada's looking better.

That's all.

you make it sound like deductions are a uniquely American thing. By the same token since capital gain tax in Canada is better fitted for low earners, I'd rather have Canadian citizenship.

I still feel the US is quite possibly the easiest place to earn a buck, but the whole immigration bit puts a damper on things, and sometimes I'd rather have a friendly neighbor that won't meddle in my affairs than live in an upscale place where I'm not wanted and/or blamed for everything wrong with the hood.
