Does corporatism dominate the US? What are you going to do about it? Wait for Congress to pass regulations? Not gonna happen. Legal bribes--political contributions--will prevent Congress from ever doing anything. Popular movements like these bring attention and pressure elected officials to do something. Now, I havent talked to anyone at the protests but if they are protesting against tax breaks and subsidies for multibillion dollar industries, Im with them.

This is kind of what I agree with the most out of all the posts so far. vmd also made good points as well.

I'm seeing the bigger picture to these protests that are (supposedly) spreading across the country. If this demonizes Republicans in the end for their inaction (since they are pro big business and deregulation) and lets the Democrats take Congress back, I'm all for it.

I haven't really been keeping in loop with the latest news, but from a few articles I skimmed, these protesters are relatively young right? As long as it gets young people voting at the polls (in which they'll mostly align with being a Democrat) then this would only help us in the end with Democrats getting more votes.

All I have to say is that if you are a dreamer and you are not agreeing with this protest, i don't know what is wrong with you. Some people lose jobs because of this people, as they get richer, other lose their home, lose their job, or lose all their possession. Not everyone can get a job, everyday somebody is suffering.

You want them to have compassion for us.. , well show some compassion for the people that have suffers because of this criminals that not only bath on money, but they also control the govt.

I think most of you guys are just plain ignorant. I support Occupy Wall Street because of the way the US economy is being handled by the government. Some of you refer to these protesters as people that don't even know what they are protesting for, where'd you get your info from.. let me guess, the US MEDIA? FYI This government has passed laws that control what our media could and could not inform us about. Then again some of you people think you know it all. What about the government selling more than a thousand weapons to Mexican cartels.. are you constantly being "informed" about that? The real reason to WHY this government spends billions of dollars in military spending even before Obama became president... are you constantly being "informed" about that?
Don't rely on the media, dig deeper than that to find out the truth and until you do so, please try and keep ignorant comments to yourself. Thanks.

This is probably one of the most hilarious things I have read on this forum. So it basically means, poor people, the unemployed, and anyone that is not rich, are the ones to blame for their own poverty. I guess that makes sense, I mean getting laid off because the company shuts down, having to pay thousands of dollars on medical treatment for family members that leaves many bankrupt. etc. etc... So yeah you are right. Fuck the poor.

This fight is not for us , we have our own battle that weve been fighting for 10 years , it's called the dream act ! O and by the way , the wall street people are going at it the wrong way , they should be protesting the federal reserve , those are the real criminals , but hey what ever they don't want to give us a chance then why even care.

No i disagree. this protest has no focus at all. Environmentalists are there, libertarians, socialists, animal rights people....big union....the immigration movement should jump in. Its also a great opportunity to network.

Another big difference: these protests actually make the mainstream news. Immigration protests haven't really made much news in years

Well said!

The people that are so ignorant about this movement are just as bad as the people who are against DREAM.

Talk about hypocrisy!
