Unless his biological parents had some way of legalizing this kid, he probably has a better future getting automatic citizenship from his foster parents than his biological parents.

If he had lived just 1 year as an undocumented immigrant over the age of 18, he would choose his foster parents any day. It's not like the law forbids him to have a relationship with his biological parents anyways. He can regularly visit his biological parents when he's an adult and with his citizenship, he has all the chance in the world. He has no excuse.

No, no, no and hell, no. This is not about a child's chances in the future; it is about biologically belonging with your next of kin.

This is not about future opportunity for the child; it is about punishing the parent for his/her poverty. After all, even if you are undocumented, should you be lucky to be middle class, you can raise your children well. The people in this forum have enjoyed, without American status, the midde class benefit of higher education. And if your child is a U.S. citizen, then that child enjoys rights that no one else can take away. This is an abuse of power and an unethical and immoral action to remove your children from your custody simply because you are an immigrant. And if being an illegal immigrant parent endangers the welfare of children; then does every other undocumented minor have the right to a better life in the states should someone of means be willing to sponsor them?

My great-grandmother (Mexican nationality) was really Italian-Portuguese and was taken away from her mother because she was a single, unwed woman and my great-grandmother was a "bastard" child. So she was given to a "reputable" family, whom moved her to Mexico, and whom never loved her and left her to fend for herself. Whether she ended up having a better life or not, no one knew because until know, no one can guarantee the future.

Point me to the rule where it says we're not supposed to talk about the future opportunity of the child

Living as undocumented isn't middle class and getting your child prone to getting handcuffed and be sent to detention is not raising your child well.

Speak for yourself. I didn't.

That was like 100 years ago. Back then barely anyone in US or Mexico had an opportunity to move up in social ladder.

Today, things are much different. If this kid realized his life as an undocumented, he would probably choose to live his teenage life with his foster parents.

HE IS NOT BETTER WITH HIS FOSTER PARENTS> thats bs.
they stripped him away from his mother, without warning or consent
they had no right to do that, and to call our parents or his parents "unfit parents" because they wanted to make a betteer life for him here? He deserves to be with his real parents, not foster, yes our parents messed up, but we still have it better then alot of of people here, (homeless, poor , etc). I love my life and i would not trade it for anything, im glad im here this way, its made me a better person

I see a double standard in this specific case.

obviously you've never been poor. your parents are probably permanent residents so what do you know?
