I am just hoping for that day the republicans allow pets to petition their owners.

I have a little dog too. What do you use to PREVENT your dog from getting fleas?

I think caring for dogs is quite a responsibility.

There are some anti flee products. I applied some to my dog. It smells weird but it is only once in a while.

I know about the responsibility part. Luckily, I make my little brothers take care of the dog, since they are the ones who wanted one.

To prevent it, it's necessary to give flea prevention monthly. Especially in Cali. Fleas are a b*tch out here. I switch back and forth between an oral pill called Comfortis (which requires a vet prescription), and a topical product called Advantage.

Keep in mind that if your dog already had fleas, then their slippery eggs fell all over your environment. 3 months down the road the vibrations of your dog walking etc. will cause them to hatch and jump back on your dog. If you maintained your dog on flea prevention, they'll die. If you didn't, they'll stay on your dog and lay more eggs.

Have you guys tried the natural remedies? Such as lemon juice and/or vinegar.

Dude, I just found two fleas on my dog today. I was like: FUCK! I immediately gave her a flea bath with a dog shampoo. I tried killing the little bastards with my hand. Those little fuckers are hard to kill! The nice thing is that the house we are renting has hard-wood floors. So, keeping a clean environment is not as difficult. Apartments with carpets . . . omg. That must be flea hell.

I do try to use a flea comb. But, my dog's semi-curly hair makes the combing an unpleasant experience for her.

I have heard that many of those products are dangerous though for your dog and even you (read Silent Spring. After reading that book, I don't mess around with chemicals)--if even if labels guarantee safety. Also, don't those products just kill the fleas? Killing is a must but prevention is even more important.

I have only used it once. Also, where I live. I think it is easier to get AIDS than flees.
