Yep, there are always a few key words that can be used to target one's political orientation on the immigration spectrum and when one speaks "rule of law" every effing day you know you fall on the immigration restrictionism end of the spectrum.

I think one thing the movement def needs to target is to stop the immigration discourse from leaning far too rightwards. The DA keeps getting more conservative year by year and we should await Rubio's proposal, but if even this fails to pass muster, we just need to demand the president to sign this into executive order in his second term under wider and more expansive terms akin to how the proposal was shaped in the early 2000s. I think the movement will certainly head in that direction if the Rubio proposal bill fails and i think if that happens Obama will feel an almost moral imperative to just force USCIS to adopt the changes, along with DHS. But yes one step at a time and it will be entertaining, no classic, to see the battles on the floor. I hope CSPAN carries it out online.

One of my professors told me that she does not expect anything to happen because it is an election year. She expects something happen after. But, that troubles me to the deepest part of my soul. I cannot fathom the idea of legislator voting no this year then voting yes like two or three months down the road. What are they going to saay? "Oh! it's a miracle! I changed my mind all of a sudden."

I don't man. Some shit has to give. Either the GOP gives us something, or watch them go down in flames in the election. Or, the conservatives get what they want, or we all leave. But, something has to give.
