I think expect last week of sept or oct for bio appts, for those who filed em after the 24th. I got mine today for the 26th of sept, so excited!
Only 40k applicants? that seems a bit low considering uscis has slowed down a bit, maybe its just my service center but, uscis did stated the first wave of apps were gonna get bio appts within a month of accepting someone apps and 4-6 months for the first wave of apps, then a slow down on process times as people file for more.
Hopefully who ever filed with within 3 weeks will get approved within 3 months from getting biometrics or today!!

I just received my Biometrics appointment letter today! Have to go all the way down to Cincy on October 1st.

As for showing my ID, is it ok to show my EXPIRED passport?

I think it depends on the office. How recent it's the picture on the passport. Etc. the ID is just to confirm that the person getting their finger prints and picture taken is the same person on the application. I myself got my passport renewed just to make sure. Besides you shouldn't have your passport expired. You never know when you will need it. Hopefully your consulate doesn't take long to process passports.

Recently got my schedule for biometrics, it's on the 24th of this month. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it because I'm down here in California and my appointment is all the way up in Oregon: I live in Oregon but am down here for the summer. I plan on requesting a reappointment, I just hope that it doesn't make the date for it prolong too much. Anything after the 26th would be great!

Jeez, I'm stressing out.

not true. my appointment date is on october 3rd, and my apps were delivered on august 23rd. they assigned me to the office at south elmonte, ca. maybe the area became a factor too.
