Whats the reason they are not mailing the applications? Thats so not fair for the people who payed so much money. Someone should do something about it.

I would quit on the spot. I get really upset when minorities get taken advantage of.

She's getting paid with dirty money. The poor dreamers are paying her wages. While they sit there and wait for their applications to be approved and they haven't even been mailed yet!!! And we're over here wondering why so little peoples have applied.

This makes me wonder how many other lawyers are doing the same thing. They're probably republican lawyers.

You should at least name the state or the city of where your cousin works. That way we can spread the word to others and your cousin can keep her job with a clean conscience. Who knows. Maybe someone in this forum went there.

Today she just notified me that they have reached 100 applications and the SAD PART is they haven't sent one single application. For some reason they are holding all the applications which is unfair and it was worthless paying close to $2000 if they haven't even sent the application.

This law firm is making $150,000 just on DACA, and well pretty much the customers don't know their application is not even sent to USCIS.

Lawyers will be lawyers
these applicants can (and should) complain about the firm to the local bar association. if enough people complain, perhaps there can be action taken. my guess is that the retainer this firm signed with these applicants probably did not specify the date by which the firm will send out applications.

there are only a small number of instances when people really need an attorney to file for them. i am a law student - and i tell people not to go to an immigration attorney for their DACA application unless they have criminal records. plus, there's a ton of npo's offering clinics.

This is probably an isolated case. Not everyone wants to fill out the paperwork by themselves. My lawyer is fantastic and she personally convinced me to apply. I really was on the fence. Sure she wasn't cheap but its my future life and I did my research to find a reputable lawyer that is on good standing with the local state bar stuff like that.

Thank You for posting this out .

It seems like its the new trend with this immigration lawyers, I had my appointment with a "reputable law firm" here in Dallas, TX and I was so exited that I had my appointment on Aug 16 , the day after USCI was accepting applications. I spent around 3-4 hours with the lawyer, doing everything in slow motion, I didn't had a problem with that, I was revising every page 2 times, and correcting.
I do not have a criminal record; I'm a college grad etc, so I had school records left and right, bank statements, etc etc. I e-mailed this lawyer to get an update, and he would just tell me, we are working on sending it bla bla bla.. On Sep 7 he e-mails me saying: I will recommend you to bring me bank statements from this specific period (a semester i took off school on 200x) Long Story Short Lawyer took from Aug 16 - Sep 7 to inform me that he needed that specific info.
He had the guts , to tell me that he could send it right on Sep 7 or he could wait until I got the statements.
I'm still working with the bank to pull out statements from that period!!
It’s frustrating and infuriating when you have taken all info possible, he revised twice, and 3 weeks later he still needs more.

Lawyer fee $ 1100 + $465 fees all paid Aug 16.

I would recommend anybody with a lawyer CALL-CALL-CALL-EMAIL-EMAIL-SHOW UP.
You are paying for their prompt service, and not for them to do what they WANT !

(please excuse my spelling)

Honestly ya'll, from Day 1 they told us that a lawyer would not be necessary to properly fill out this application and put together the documents... unless you have misdemeanors or run-ins with the law. For me, the only consultation I needed was this forum. I believe it gave me much more help and insight than any lawyer could have given me. I really do feel bad for some people who paid upwards of a thousand dollars to have lawyers not treat their applications with any sense of urgency (and not just the lawyer mentioned in this post). Shame on all of those lawyers.

that's exactly how i felt about all these people which worked with that lawyer. and I'm sure not everybody had a easy time raking up that kind of money to hire a professional I mean I'm sure that law firm wasn't the only one and you just confirmed that, but is just unfair to pay that amount in full which is 1000+ and not receive any kind of professionalism. I'm posting this because i know there is still a lot of people in which still haven't applied and they should be on the lookout to not encounter a situation in which all these people are currently in.
BE CAREFUL PEOPLE!!!! EVEN IF YOU PAY BIG FEES DOESN'T MEAN THEY WILL GET THE JOB DONE.
