I believe they're ignorant. They have this notion that whatever contact they have with immigration officials will result in deportation.

But of course I couldn't tell them any of this.

I was originally afraid to apply but very quickly realized that I have nothing to lose. So I wen't for it. And now when I'm trying to go to sleep all I can do is daydream about what I'm going to do in the coming months.
I feel you 100%. I wanted to go to college myself but I live in racist ass SC which made it illegal for undocumented students to even attend community college. They also made it mandatory for businesses to use e-verify so I couldn't get a job anywhere decent. My brothers hooked me up with a job in construction but then it got slow so we had no work. The depression hit in after a few months of being super broke. So I started my own online business and I have to admit, being undocumented has made me much more motivated to succeed.
I also was a bit hesitant since I have a heavy juvenile record, 4 counts of grand larceny, its a long story.
I said fuck it though its do or die.

Haha
Yeah its kind of like dealing drugs legally. I sell a lot of liquid nicotine and e-cigarettes. People laugh when I tell them "I'm an illegal selling drugs legally"

Well i believe people don't apply is because of lack of money and they are scared to get deported if their application gets denied after biometrics if they have even small traffic violations. I also asked a guy about his sister and brother and he told me they are not applying because they are waiting till election day. Also I know some people that started going into a Ged program since last month and according to them they don't wanna send the application because they don't have the Ged certificate yet. Which makes me ask something now; do you really have to get a Ged certificate to qualify? I'm saying this because my little sister qualifies under all categories but she started going into GED program last month and doesn't that qualify as currently in school? Any advice is appreciated.

Yes!! She qualifies.

Read the DACA FAQ

"Q2: Who is considered to be “currently in school” under the guidelines?
A2: To be considered “currently in school” under the guidelines, you must be enrolled in:

an education program assisting students either in obtaining a regular high school diploma or its recognized equivalent under state law (including a certificate of completion, certificate of attendance, or alternate award), or in passing a General Educational Development (GED) exam or other equivalent state-authorized exam."

I was ready by August 15th!! Like others mentioned, I'm tired of living in limbo. If they deny me and deport me well at least I can move on with my life. I was planing on leaving by the beginning of next year anyways and I would have taken my bachelors in engineering with me. If I get accepted and they end the program after 2 years, Imo, I think a degree from an American institution and hopefully 2 years experience in the US would definitely make it easier to immigrate to other countries, i.e. Canada, Australia. My .02!!

Exactly Juvi. This in a way feels so wrong but on the other hand we have a chance to have a normal life. I am aware that if Obama doesn't win we might not even renew our work permit anymore. But if you don't take a risk, you will never find out.
